Sandy & Rocky SOLD!

The mares were teased early this morning. Emma is now out but Lily was still in and covered by Valiant. I wanted to take them to Middle Grove but will have to wait until Lily is out. Hadassah and Jenis need to come home for breeding or ultrasounds. Lily's colt was given another halter, tying, leading, and hoof picking up lesson today. He is so smart after yesterday's schooling he figure out very quickly today what was expected.
Mark asked Lisa Waibel of there was anyone wanting to work with him today and she gave him Ezra's name. It was arranged we would pick Ezra up at 9:00 am. He was a good help.

They took down some dead trees, cut and dumped the logs on our pile. We had 2 geese pairs both hatch goslings last night or this morning. One pair hatched out 5 and the other 7. The pair below were taking their family to the pond when they saw me and let me know very strongly not to come any closer.

The pair with the 7 goslings were more shy and kept their family on the far side of the pond.
Eliza and Marika were let out onto the pond field today. Eliza is due May 21st but just starting to wax over.
Below is Eliza enjoying the grass.
Ezra was taken home around noon. We had to stop at the shop to run a credit card payment for Rachel's mare Sandy and her colt by Valiant. They are now sold and will be leaving Monday for California.
Eliza was stalled tonight and the horses in the middle paddock let out back to be with Marika. While letting them out to graze at dusk I noticed the fox family out playing. I know the pictures aren't the best as it was getting dark and I had to zoom quite far so as not to scare them away. I first noticed the parents off to the side then soon a kit coming over to join them. Foxes mate for life, the male parent does most of the hunting when the kits are young bringing back food for the vixen. These 2 are great parents.

It wasn't long before 2 more kits came out to play, they were running around jumping over each other while staying near their burrow.

One of the geese pair noticed them playing and came swimming over with their family to scare them back into their burrow.
It was really neat to see them out and playing, maybe tomorrow night I'll bring my video camera, perhaps they will come out before it gets too dark.
