We left the hotel around 9:00am, we knew Steven would feed and water the horses so did a load of laundry at the hotel washers and waited until they were done. Not only did Steven feed and water, he also had the foals turned out into the round pen and the stalls clean. So nice to have good help. Between Karin, Monica, Rhoda, and Steven we got the rest of the stalls decorated. I took some pictures then the battery went bad on the camera. Tomorrow I'll have to take a video. I think the stalls look GREAT! With The Horsemeister Friesian tack stall, we love how the lights behind the material frames the picture and the fairy lights on the table glow softly through the light blue material.
The Vaulting tack stall is the same old, same old. Jenis' stall is decorated with very sparkly silver, edged in pink, with the Friesian Heritage Horse posters on the stall, on the table with the flyers and buttons. To the right of her stall is Ylse's stall, decorated with the same sparkly material in pink edged in silver with a table in front of her stall that has a light blue sparkly material with fairy lights underneath.
Ciera and Wanda's stall is decorated in the same pink as Ylse's stall with a Horsemeister Friesian sign on the front.:
Valiant and Evan's stall was decorated in blue and edged in silver, again with the Horsemeister Friesian sign on the front.
We finished in plenty of time so decided to go off the fairgrounds for lunch and found a Ryans once we were all well satisfied it was off to go watch a Tommie Turvey clinic on trick training at the livestock center. After being in the cold barns the warm livestock center made us all very drowsy so we forced ourselves back into the cold. Rhoda and Monica took the mares out for some work while Steven just rolled the pedestal into the aisle and put the foals off and on for some practice. The lady in charge of the judging came over to tell us what was expected for tomorrow morning for the 4 foals so they were taken into the arena for practice.
The vaulters all started getting ready for their practice and it was so cold that Monica, Sarah and I decided to buy the $9.00 ticket just so we could go sit in a warm area. The Tommie Turvey Night of the Horse was really entertaining. The vaulters were quite a hit, they even got a standing ovation on our side of the coliseum. We were all ready to head back to the hotel, warm rooms, soft beds, hot showers and left over Mexican food.
There was an email from the man that owns Chiquita, he included a picture of the foal but the email didn't say if it was a colt or filly. Boy or Girl it is BLACK.
UPDATE: It is a FILLY, the first filly from Raven in 2010! All the rest have been colts this year.
