The Big 70

I went out as soon as it was light to tease Whiskey. She is for sure out of season. I put her in the field next to Evan to see if she would show but she walked away and started grazing showing no interest at all in Evan.

Blueberry was checked next then I took the golf cart over to the cabin to check Sheena and Dancer.
None of them are ready to deliver. On our walk today we hiked down the death trails and check out the work Mike has been doing. He opened up then built up the bottom entrance out to Hanna City Glasford Rd. Below Joan is walking out to the road on it.
We stopped at mom's after the walk. She was ready to walk to the table, Joan was helping her when she complained that her big toe was hurting. Below Joan is checking it out.
We left then to make our own breakfasts. After breakfast Mark and I went to the barn to get the clips off the ceiling that are no longer needed.
We used 3 of them to rehang the light fixture that had been knocked down again. In the video Mark is first putting up the clips and the second half of the video shows what happens when he plugged it in.

I got the upstairs cleaned up but it will need to be swept before the next guests come on Thursday. As today is my 70th birthday Spark, Rhonda, Diane, Ruth, Fedi, Joan, Dan, Karin and mom took Mark and me out to eat for lunch at the Bartonville diner. We sat down and were visiting while the food was being prepared when a man walked up to the table and asked if we were Apostolics. That is 2 times in less than a week someone would come up and ask that question. I don't think it was our behavior, maybe our laughter was a little loud. We are a joyful bunch and some of those birthday cards were really funny. The food was great but the company was even better.

From there we went to see Dan's next project located in Creve Cour.
He already has it rented out and the people will be moving in the end of this month.
The house is on a 2 or 3 acre lot with lots of trees and some of them were blooming beautifully.

When we got back I went over to the cabin field to bring Rosaleigh over to tease.
She is still not in season and would have nothing to do with Evan. I moved her to the paddock next to Valiant as she needs to be watched closely for the next 2 weeks. She was glad to see Missy but didn't want to get close to Valiant at all.
Valiant was standing staring at her through the fence.
The next project was to do more ground work with Titus. As Mike was there he decided to use the 4 wheeler to take him to the round pen and today wanted a saddle on him.

After working with him a little Mike brought him over to the mounting block and first laid on his back then climbed into the saddle, sat on him, praised him then climbed back off. We kept it short and sweet.
Below is the video.

Below Mike is getting ready to untack him. He really is catching on quickly.
As I was checking the mares I noticed Sheena had pus coming out where there should be no pus. I called Hoerr vet clinic, told Emma about it and she had me drive to the clinic for a shot of Exceed and a bottle of sulfa paste. I gave her the shot of Exceed then showed Mike how to give the sulfa. That needs to be given everyday. If it doesn't clear up in 3 days we will need to bring her into the clinic. She is due the end of this month so it is important that her uterus is clean. When I got back Mark and Mackenson came driving up on the golf cart. Mackenson was driving.
They had been repairing the back fenceline and were able to finish it today. By this time it was after 5:00 pm. Mark just wanted a salad for supper as we had such a big lunch at the diner. He was given a colorful chef salad and ate it all.
I had a piece of left over friend chicken from yesterday's meal.  I decided 70 really doesn't seem to feel that old it just sounds old. Amazing how quickly those 70 years flew by.
