Much to Be Thankful For

After the excitement of the safe birth of Blueberry's filly it was kind of hard to sleep last night. I woke up a couple times during the night to check the monitor to make sure all was well and ended up not waking up this morning until 6:09 am when Mike called to check on her. On our walk we stopped first to admire her. She is such a pretty silver and stocky for just 8 hours old.

I had to take the video below of her nursing.

We hiked the death trails again.
There were some fallen limbs across the trail. Joan took care of the first one by herself.
There was a big one that took 3 of them to move then Ruth decided to do the last one herself. The picture below may have been posed.
We ended up at mom's house and had to admire her flowering crab tree or as the kids say, "the crabby tree".
We also noticed the beautiful plant Beth Meister brought mom for her birthday.
There was a downy woodpecker on her deck. It was not pecking at the deck, it was trying to open a sunflower seed.
Later this afternoon Jessica stopped in with her new baby Brewer
Right after breakfast I drove to the Social Security office. That is such a frustrating place but today I think it is cleared up and they should be issuing me a refund for the extra money they took out of my payment for 20 months.  From there I stopped at Aldi to pick up the ham, green beans and more fruit for the Easter dinner Sunday. Once home and the groceries put away the laundry was started then it was time to go out and fill water buckets and hay feeders. Rosaleigh is in season and was covered today by Evan. On the way back to his paddock Rosalie was teased and she is also in season but I can't use Valiant on her as he is her brother. Hopefully she will still be in tomorrow evening. Later I was going to head up to the barn to take care of Blueberry's stall when I noticed the horses from the cabin field were over visiting Evan. They were rounded up and put in a paddock here. Sheena was the ringleader. She is pictured below and is heavy in foal. She is not due until the end of this month.
Titus is pictured below. He is quite tall for his age. He won't be 3 until Aug 4th, 2025.
Dancer is also heavy in foal but she is due May 5th.
We decided these 3 will stay here a few days, which will make it easier to work with Titus.
We left for Good Friday service at 6:00 pm. That was a somber affair. No preaching, only reading from the WORD and singing. If you would like to watch that click HERE.
We drove straight up to the barn after church so I could fill water buckets and clean out any manure. The filly is galloping around in the stall. If we have a nice day tomorrow we will get them outside. I will sleep well tonight. There is so much to be thankful for today!
