At 10:00 pm Mark and I went to bed. He fell asleep very quickly but I was watching the foaling monitor on my phone and saw Blueberry lay down and start to deliver at 10:15 pm. I quickly got dressed, called Mike to let him know then went to the barn. Below is the video of the entire delivery and you will need to watch it if you want to know if she had a colt or a filly. This foal was very large and when Blueberry was struggling Mike had to pull the foal.. This gave Blueberry the assistance needed in delivering this big foal which you will see on the video.

Blueberry Delivers
We are THRILLED. This foal was born strong, healthy and hungry and determined to stand quickly. Below are pictures taken between 10:30 pm and 11:15 pm.
Below are the foal slippers. This protects the mare during delivery.
This is Blueberry's first foal and we were impressed with what a great mother she was and is. She did a wonderful job cleaning up the foal then stood very still when the foal was rooting around for the udder. We are SO thankful for a safe delivery and a healthy foal.
