I am pleased to announce we have waxing. Rosalie was checked early this morning and both teats had big clumps of wax on them. After our walk Mark was given a good breakfast to give him the energy he was going to need today.
We had lots of chores lined up. Rosalie was taken into the stall, given some grain and a good grooming so I could take all the burrs out of her forelock, mane, tail and feather (Friesian's have what is called feather, thick curly hair on their lower legs around their hooves). Her front legs were pull of burrs. She must have walked right into a cocklebur bush. The pictures below were taken after her grooming.Day to day operation of a Friesian breeding farm standing 2 Friesian stallions. We have 6-10 foals each year out of Purebred Friesian mares, Andalusian mares, Thoroughbred mares and Friesian sport mares by Judy Sceggel 309-208-3840 www.horsemeister.com

Family Night
We had storms during the night. Lots of lightning and thunder but not a lot of rain. I went out early to check the mares in the indoor arena and was surprised at how little was on the ground. What we got pretty much soaked in. The mares were turned out and the arena cleaned before going back inside to get ready for our walk. Not that I needed to put on fancy clothes or anything but I needed to wash up and get shoes on instead of boots. We all walked today and had much to arrange. Joan, Diane and Spark are going to Jon's funeral. Ruth will stay back with mom. Rachel is on high alert for the pending delivery of Jessica's baby as she will need to keep Ruby. Mark and I will leave early on Friday but will need to put the mares back in the indoor before leaving as the weather is predicted to be cold and rainy. Berlica will clean the indoor on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning. We should be home by Saturday late afternoon. We stopped in at mom's after the walk but she was still sound asleep. Amy brought daffodils over to brighten the house.

Where's the Warmup
BRR it was cold this morning on our walk. We all wore winter coats. Jon's funeral is Saturday so when we got to Rachel's house we stopped to discus changing mom's work day to next Saturday as a lot of us are going to the funeral. Mom and I left for the Berean office and by the time we arrived everyone was already hard at work. Kathy opened a letter today that was wrapped in toilet paper. She wasn't sure if she should take it out of the envelope or not. She got brave and carefully slipped it out of the toilet paper, saying, "At least it doesn't look used."
