Fog and Ice

Well the ice on the driveways here was so bad that Karin and I had to cancel our trip to Middle Grove to pick up the first 4 mares we are bringing home for the IL Horse Fair. We still walked although slowly and carefully. At one point Ruby, Rhoda and Lee's dog took off running down the hill toward Spark and Rhonda's slipped and when sliding down the drive. We all laughed. Even with our spikes and skids on it was hard to walk.  When I left for work today the fog was so thick I almost ran a stop sign. On the way home the fog was even thicker as the weather was warming up. The picture below was taken on Smithville road as I was coming up to the stop sign at Glasford Rd.
I was thankful there weren't a lot of cars on the road and those that were had their lights on unlike this morning. This morning there was one oncoming car driving without lights.
The one good thing about this weather is we hit 50 this afternoon and it was 54 coming home from church tonight. Rain is predicted tomorrow which should help melt this thick ice quickly. By Saturday the weather is suppose to get back down to the teens during the day and single digits at night so we will plan on going to Middle Grove then. The ground should be frozen but the ice gone.
