We have no way of knowing what the day will bring but we can take comfort God knows and not only knows what will happen, He KNEW all along.
Early this morning I stepped on a piece of wood with 2 nails lying on the kitchen/living room floor. I couldn't figure out what Mark had been trying to make with it thinking this must be a left over part from last night when he fixed the stall door Evan broke. A bit later Mark sees the part and tells me that had rat poison on it, 2 huge chunks, it had been in the closet behind the air conditioner. Not knowing which dog ate the poison, both were loaded into the car and off we went to the vet clinic. As we got near Hanna City I happened to look at the gas gauge and it is below E. Pulled into Fast Stop whipped out my purse, tried to grab my wallet and there is NO wallet in the purse. Now the car is below E, no wallet, no cash, sick dogs but... turns out Mike is in the next aisle filling up his truck, I now owe him $25.00. This is small town living, don't think it would happen in Peoria. They were waiting for us at the vet clinic, both dogs were weighed, Darcy is 184 pounds and Emma 144 pounds, the dogs were taken back to the runs and I was free to go. Once back at the farm, Mom is busy staining our doors and helped hook the truck and trailer up. Dr. Hoerr's filly was loaded to take back to Morton, IL when I see Paris in with Raven. We didn't want her bred but today will be written down so just in case she comes up pregnant at least we will know the day. After the filly was dropped it was time to head to Bridlewood to pick up Rhoda's mare DaMita and all the tack left there. It really was kind of sad to realize we are now completely moved out and won't be back. On the way home, Rhoda called to report we almost lost Emma. She had a bad reaction to the vitamin K shot, went into shock and started convulsing, went limp then lost control of bodily functions and wet. They were able to save her life by giving her steroids.
Steven offered to take Izadora, DaMita, and Dalia out to Middle Grove and bring back Mika and the way the day was going, he was taken up on his offer. I headed down to Meisters to pay the first of the month bills and make deposits. The lap top was taken down so the website could be updated but ran out of time before that was able to happen, perhaps tomorrow that can be done. When it came time to pick up the dogs, there is Darcy on a delux bed in the receptionists area. They said she was quite a conversation piece today. I could hear Emma whining in the back. They are both on vitamin K pills, 5 a day for Darcy and 4 a day for Emma. Rhoda will have Emma sonagramed next week to see if the puppies are ok.
We decided against the expensive couch, Mark is looking at the more reasonable futon for the office. Thank goodness we have church tonight!
