Ribbon

Karin called to tell me that she is the guilty party. Of course that meant I had to ask her what she had to be guilty about. Turns out she got a phone call from the Pence's who live in Joan & Tim's house while they are in Haiti that there are horses in mom's yard. Last night after vaulting Karin put Ribbon back in the middle paddock and didn't latch the gate correctly, not only did that gate not get latched but she also caused the Friesian paddock to be left open. This was really not all her fault, one of the clips had broken so we just had the 2 chains connected with the same clip. Mike tried to call me but I was up doing laundry and didn't hear the phone so he left work, caught them all except Ribbon who was running down the cabin lane. The way Mike tells it is, he got a grain bucket to call her, but 30 yards away Ribbon saw him coming and took off. He gave up and just left her. I called Karin to see if she is heading to Hanna City after work but she is not so she is checking with Rebekah. I'm waiting to hear if Rebekah can go.
Now Ribbon is like an elephant both in size and in terms of memory. She hasn't liked Mike since roped her. He hasn't tried to rope her since she came to our farm 5 years ago but she is sure he is out to do something awful when ever he is around. She is very suspicious of his intentions. Getting back to the roping part, Ribbon would not be caught when we first bought her so Mike roped her, caught her and put her to work, she did NOT like being caught.
Just heard that Rebekah put Ribbon away, funny how a girl can do a man's job.:o)
It is hard to find a picture of Ribbon that truly shows how HUGE she is and yet she is so good for the vaulters.
