Moving Horses

Today the weather was gorgeous, sunny and almost 70 degrees. Karin and Sarah arrived home from Gulf Shores, AL around 4:00am and brought the warmth with them. Mom felt good enough to go to church today  and stay for both services but was very tired once home. Karin had to get her horse fix in after 10 days of horse drought while in Gulf Shores. She was very pleased with Killian, commenting he didn't go backwards in training. She complimented Steven on the trick training. She also had both Indy and Ayanna lay down. Steven arrived and got Lilypony covered by Evan first thing. Indy is still in but was covered yesterday. Karin and Steven headed to Middle Grove to pick up the last 4 horses needing to be bred or sonagrammed, bringing back Prissy, Cor, Cookie and Missy. Missy was showing and was covered by Valiant. Mark moved a round bale in the 2nd paddock for those four.  The half Friesian mare coming in for breeding arrived this afternoon. She was teased and started showing so was also covered by Evan. We were pleased she stood very well. Her owner wants us to have an ultrasound to make sure she is actually ovulating. We will try to arrange that soon and have some of ours done at the same time. Steven brought Hadassah in to the stall for grooming and graining, then Karin round penned her and felt she will do well. We will probably leave Missy and Cookie here for a while for training.
David and Stephanie came over for dinner. Mark grilled cheeseburgers for the first time this year. Those were served with sweet corn, chips, vine ripened tomatoes, and grilled onions. A plate full was taken over to mom's and after dinner she commented that was the best burger she had had in a long time. I think she was probably just hungry.
