Cowboy Mounted Clinic

Steven arrived at the Horsemeister Farm with plenty of time to get a few things done around here before we needed to leave for the clinic. The boys were put in the outdoor arena for some play time and just after they were in, we hear a horse galloping up to the arena. Gem, the outside mare didn't want to be left and for the second time smashed down a board and escaped. She was caught, covered by Evan, and put in a stall until the fence could be repaired. She stood but is going out, this will be her last cover. Evan was put away and Valiant brought out for Prissy. Steven made this boy behave. He still jumped too soon but not near as bad as when I was handling him. We fixed the board, put Gem back then headed to Gitza Peterson's place, Gray Horse Farm for the clinic. Below are a few pictures of the clinic:

The clinic didn't finish up until after 5:00pm, Steven and I headed back to test Zalena. She is progressing but we still have some time. Steven went to check Hadassah and found her front leg swollen with what looks like a puncture wound. We hosed it off and gave her sulfa. She will need more tomorrow. Ribbon was also checked. Her udder is getting big but I think we still have some time. Dinner tonight was Gil's chicken, green beans and sweet potatoes. By the time we were able to sit down and eat it was 7:00pm.
