They Came Back

I drove Mark's golf cart up to check how Tatiana and Jewel are doing early this morning.  Oliver and Star are still curious about Jewel as she is with them. Soon Jewel will be moved in with them and when we take them to Middle Grove Jewel will show them around once bonded.

Tatiana won't be going back until after she has her foal and after she is bred back.
I left a little late so used Mark's golf cart to meet up for the walk and pulled in just as Diane was walking up the hill and Ruth driving up the drive. We are all prompt. Joan does not walk on Fridays as she has Co-op.  We stopped in at mom's and Karin showed us all the baby blankets she has made and are ready to go. Jessica and Noel are due this spring with Jessica expecting a boy and Noel a girl.

Below Diane and Ruth and looking at all the different patterns.
Karin took mom to JoAnn Fabric to pick out the material. We all thought she picked such cute patterns. Karin crochets most evenings.  She is quite talented with blanket making and drawing. The picture below is of Noel.
After the walk I cooked Mark breakfast and tried a new way to serve blueberries as I thought I could try this recipe for Sunday. He liked it but it didn't turn out how I thought it would so am not going to try it for Sunday.
After breakfast we went to the barn to start moving wood. Mark was sure the men were not coming to work today and we have guests coming in tomorrow morning. The outside pile of scrap was loaded on to the golf cart and driven over to the wood shed.
All those cut 2 x 4's make great kindlin for starting hot fires. Next we went to work inside. This whole pile needed to be moved from the door over to the side of the gym.
Mark swept the area we were going to move it to first as the lift had been there and had left a mess.
We worked together moving 2 at a time and it really didn't take very long.
We had just finished when we heard a truck pull up around 10: 15 am. It was one of the construction workers. He told us the other job got called off so they were coming back here.  It was fine we had moved the wood. Mark and I left then so we wouldn't slow them down. Today Mark worked on camper tires. He is taking them off, driving them to Rieker's at East Peoria Tire and getting them balanced. He got two done today. The construction workers left for home around 3:00 pm so I went right over to get the barn cleaned up for the guests coming in tomorrow morning. There was a lot of sawdust to sweep up. The 3 bathrooms were given a quick cleaning. Only the men's had been used so the others were just wiped down in case of sawdust. The kitchen/living floor needed a good sweeping and mopping as did the gym hallway. I finished just after Mark had finished getting the camper tires installed back on the campers.  He kind of wanted to go out to eat but I was tired from all the wood work and cleaning and told him it would be cheaper if I just made supper. While he was taking a shower I baked a potato in the microwave, split that in half and added bacon bits, sour cream and sprinkled that with cheddar cheese. While that was baking I chopped up some vegetables and added some chopped rotisserie chicken and made a stir fry. I added a salad and a little cottage cheese.
He was well satisfied and didn't even miss going out to eat. It is now my turn for the shower. We are sure enjoying the soft water and now we have plenty of water pressure too. We didn't realize how awful our old water softener was working or not working.
