I left the house at 7:30 am and drove straight to Sam's Club arriving about 2 minutes before they opened. I needed to buy fruit, cream, eggs, and bread for our trip to Florida tomorrow and paper towel, toilet paper, aluminum foil, and decaf coffee for the barn. From Sam's club I drove to Walmart to check out the marked down Christmas items and bought 10 Christmas table cloths and 5 boxes of lights all at half price. The last shop visited was Aldi where sandwich meat (honey ham, roast beef and chicken) 5 kinds of cheese and some snacks for the trip. That took exactly 3 hours as I made it home by 10:30 am and an hour of that was travel time. Mark helped unload all these groceries. The refrigerated stuff along with the decaf coffee and aluminum foil were taken to the new barn where it will stay for the night. Tomorrow the fruit and cream will be loaded into the motorhome. The Christmas stuff put up in the upstairs closet for next year. The guests at the barn left around 11:00 am and as soon as they were gone I started work there. There is a wedding scheduled for Friday and Saturday and the bride wanted all of the Christmas decorations gone. Mark came to help take down the tree and also helped with folding up the bouncy house and putting that against the wall.

Christmas Day
We were in no hurry to get out of bed this morning. No little kids around waiting excitedly for their gifts. My guests coming in to the foaling apartment asked if they could come in early. Since it wasn't rented last night I took the golf cart up to turn the lights on and realized the heat had been turned down. Mark used his phone to turn that up. I think it made it to the set point by the time they arrived. We left for church a little later as there was no Sunday school. It was nice to see church so full. Tim Roecker had the Christmas message. Click HERE to listen to that message. We left pretty quickly as I needed to flip the barn. The family that came yesterday were thrilled with the place and left a nice 5 star review. The next family was coming in today and I was pushed to get everything done by 1:00 pm. when I got to Joan's Mark and Jacob were out grilling the steak when Ruth brought in her twice baked loaded potatoes.

Christmas Eve
We both overslept. I didn't get up until 6:00 am but was thankful for a good night's sleep. Our guests at the barn not only left the barn really nice. They fixed a hinge on one of the kitchen cupboards. I didn't realize that until after the walk. Mark went over to measure the hinge only to find it fixed. I called Rhonda and sure enough Spark did the repair. I was grateful. Ruth showed up for the walk with this on her forehead.

Presents Today
My phone went off at 3:00 am with a text from Mike that they would be here in 15 minutes. I got up, dressed went out and turned the barn lights on, had Madiera's colt haltered and led over to the horse trailer before they arrived with the truck. He was so well behaved, walked in nicely. We left him untied. Mike and Diane were taking him to Birmingham, Alabama to his new home. If you look close in the picture below you can see him staring out the back window. Oliver called as the truck pulled away.

An Amazing Sunday
Since yesterday was a day of rest for me, there was a lot to do this morning, mainly dishes. Today I decided I would have a good attitude about doing them and went right to work with a song. Singing really does make the work fly. I just wish I could still sing but God doesn't care, the Bible just says make a joyful noise. We were a few minutes late getting to Rhonda's, Mark couldn't find the fob for the car, that turned out to be in his coat pocket, the one he was wearing. Isaac Funk was visiting from Peach Tree and had the morning message. To watch that message click HERE. We have the example of Zachariah and Elizabeth praying for a child, year after year then giving up when they were both well stricken in years only to have Gabriel arrive and tell him, "Zachariah, Your prayers have been heard and answered, you and Elizabeth will have a child." Knowing God IS listening to my prayer and knowing His timing is perfect gives me hope and peace. Craig Stickling had the afternoon message and that too was another perfect message for me. Craig talked of a miracle and when he was telling the story I agreed, it really was a miracle. This story begins with a student at the school Craig works at. The verse Isaiah 1 vs 18 was quoted to him by a student: Come now, and let us settle the matter saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Craig asked him the next day, "what does that verse mean and the response was, "I think it means no matter how bad you've been God will forgive you when you acknowledge Him." How thankful I am our God is the God of mercy, His mercy is new every morning. I highly recommend listening to this message and you can by clicking HERE. I really felt that both of today's messages were just for me, so sorry all you other people who had to listen to my messages. Once home the oven was turned on to 400 degrees and the potatoes were put in to bake. As I only had 7 large potatoes I also wrapped 5 sweet potatoes in aluminum foil and added those to the oven. While the oven was preheating the carrots were set to boil then I hauled the ham over to the barn and put that in the oven there. We also had the left over ribs and teriyaki chicken for the meal. David and Stephanie brought the salad as they had that left over from their last Christmas party. Below are a few pictures of after the supper and a little of the volleyball.

Christmas Lights
My eyes opened, I checked my watch and thought it said 5:20 am, walked into the kitchen, turned on the lights and went straight to the coffee pot only to see there was NO COFFEE. Our water softener died 2 days ago, the dishwasher died yesterday and my first thought was, "oh no, not the coffee maker!" Then my eyes drifted to the clock on the stove and that was reading 4:20 am. I was so relieved that I didn't even mind getting up early and needing to wait for that first cup. I had to be at the barn early this morning to finish cleaning as we have a wedding scheduled today and they wanted to come in by 9:00 am. I finished just before 9:00 came home, cooked breakfast and made it over to mom's by 9:30 am. Karin left early today. Mom was watching a Christian movie I think was called War Room. It really did show the power of prayer. I worked on the puzzle Karin, Joan and Faith had started a few days ago while listening to the movie.

More Christmas
What a day, during the night I noticed that the dishwasher had an error code. Before going to bed I had filled it with dishes, lots of dishes. Some of them were from Wednesday and then all of Thursday's dishes. At midnight I was taking apart the dishwasher to see if I could get it going but after about a half an hour I quit and went back to bed. The first thing in the morning the dishwasher was checked and yep, all those dishes were still dirty. I closed my eyes and left for the walk. We stopped at mom's after and saw the new puzzle they are working on. This one is a 1000 pieces. Joan and Faith were helping Karin with it last night.
