Diane and Mike made it home yesterday afternoon but this morning Diane needed to be at the office early so did not walk with us. We stopped in at the barn to see the progression and were surprised to find a worker there already so only looked a short time. After one round we stopped and visited with mom and Karin. Dan arrived right then so he gave Ruth a ride home. (Ryan had dropped her off). Right now Ruth and Fedi only have one vehicle between them and Fedi needed the truck this morning. If anyone is selling an older reliable car consider them. It doesn't matter if it has a few dings on it. They really could use another vehicle. Their van died a while ago and Ruth has not been able to find a good used one. After breakfast I drove first to Aldi to pick up about $75.00 of groceries then to Sam's club where I spent a couple hundred but I bought food to make for Sunday which will be a superbowl party. I picked up ingredients to make 4 different kinds of appetizers and lots of fruit. While I was gone Mark was working on our basement, cementing any holes a mouse could get in. It was lunchtime by the time I got home so made us a chef salad. It had bacon bits, shredded chicken, French fried onion rings, craisens and avocado mixed in with the spinach and lettuce.

Quick Trip
Mark's golf cart fully charged up so he used that to pick up Mackenson for the next job.
Today they put the snow tires on my car and his car. It is good timing, we are expecting snow next week. I stopped in at the barn about 3:20 and took the 2 pictures below.
Just a couple of piles I will need to clean up later.
There is progress but never quite as much as I hoped. No complaints though at least it is getting done. Mike called about then and wanted to go today to pick up Tatiana and Jewel as he needs to get his truck back up camera repaired tomorrow. I went to the barn and grabbed 3 halters and 3 lead ropes. We only planned on bringing 2 mares home but have learned to always take an extra. We left at 4:00 pm for Middle Grove. The horses were not in sight when we arrived. Mike went to get his 4 wheeler but couldn't find the keys. I hiked up the hill to look for the horses. They were not at the top of the hill so started hiking South while looking for them. Mike found the key, which had been left in the ignition, and drove up. About then we saw them coming up from the lake after getting a drink. The herd is impressive. It reminded me of the picture below.
We were up to 54 at one point then decided that was just too many. I was checking over the horses. Tatiana is obviously pregnant and she is the mare due first. Lily does not look like she is pregnant. I wasn't sure last year but don't mind. She has given me 19 beautiful foals. We kept Rosalie and then her 2022 filly Valerie. Rosalie and Rosaleigh are also obviously pregnant. We wanted to get home before dark so I didn't take any pictures until Mike was taking Jewel and Tatiana using the 4 wheeler to take them back to the horse trailer.
We never had Jewel sonagrammed and have Dr. Hoerr coming next Thursday. If she is pregnant we will be thrilled but even if she isn't Jewel is such a wonderful riding horse we will just keep her for that job. They both walked right in the trailer and we made it home by 5:30 pm. They were put in the paddock between the middle paddock and Valiant's paddock. Jewel went over to squeal at Valiant before they both settled down to eat.
I was glad to get back into the house to warm up. I had on a sweat shirt and a wind breaker and was plenty warm when hiking but the temperature had dropped when the sun went down. Mark had the fire going well in the living room wood burner.
