I meant to get up early to get the roast started but overslept not waking until 6:00 am. After downing a quick cup of coffee the roasts were put in the crock pot on low heat. Then it was time to bake the brownies and while those were baking cut up the peppers for tonight's meal.
The brownies were a double batch with chocolate chip cookie dough and when they finished baking I took the picture below. That is my largest baking pan and since it was a double batch of brownie mix and thick I could cut them into 24 pieces.
We left for church by 9:10 am. I mentioned to Mark that Sunday is my favorite day of the week. We get to join our church family in worshipping Jesus then our other family joins us at the barn. It really is the best of the best. Molly brought Nancy and waited in the front parking lot for Joan to arrive with mom. I met them and brought mom inside with Nancy while Joan put the ramp in and turned off the van. Craig Stickling had the morning message on Psalm 51 and of course we had to sing that song. He also spoke on Romans 5. Click HERE to watch that. Caleb Plattner had the afternoon message on Genesis 15 about Abraham's covenant. Click HERE to watch that. After we got home from church one of the crockpots of meat was transferred to the other and the carrots and potatoes were dumped in the broth of the one the meat was taken out of. That was put on high so those could be cooked by 4:30 pm. All of the food was loaded into Mark's car. He drove that over to the barn while I took the golf cart so he wouldn't have to walk home tonight after the meal. It has turned very cold with below zero wind chills. We had a big group for dinner but had plenty of food.
After the meal the kids played games.
Phil and Anna had to take Taegan to a basketball game so they were a little short of volley ball players but still played 3 on 3. The kids corner was very crowded tonight.
We just have a lot of kids!
Below is a short video of some of their fun.
Lee took Nancy home but also dropped Braelyn and Taegan off at their house first. I'm SO very thankful for willing drivers. By the time I got back in the house Mark was hauling wood in and getting a fire started in the wood burner. This next week is supposed to be very cold.
