Frigid Air

As soon as I got up today I used Mark's phone to turn the heat on in the gym and the living area. I walked over at 7:25 am to make sure both furnaces were running then just watched for Ruth to arrived from the South door. 

It was so cold this morning on our walk that when facing the wind we decided, "this is nuts we need to quit!" The air was so frigid it was freezing our lungs. We walked back to mom's and stayed inside visiting with her instead of continuing out in the below zero windchill.  It really never warmed up today and we kept the living room wood burner going all day. 

I had 2 different groups come to the barn today. The first was the homeschooling group using the gym and the second was a mom and bride checking out the barn. They already booked the barn for their wedding in May but wanted to come see it in person. They arrived shortly after the home school group left. My day was here at the house. The laundry got done, the kitchen given a good cleaning even scrubbing the floors and the dessert for tomorrow's potluck made. Mark checked out different triple bunk beds then ordered a plan on the internet paying $10.00 for one. He reported that $10.00 would save him at least that much or more now that he knows what to order. Below he is figuring out the cost.

We need to build 3 sets of triple bunks, one for each of the new bedrooms then a smaller set for the larger bedroom. No construction is happening this week. I think we are waiting on windows.  Mark left at 2:00 pm for his eye doctor appointment. While he was gone I was able to get most of the work here finished.  He didn't get home until 5:30 pm as he stopped at Home depot to check out the lumber and Aldi to pick up oranges, lemons and avocados.  I had ham and bean soup defrosting for our supper, added an avocado sprinkled with Everything Bagel seasoning, made some garlic cheese bread then topped that with spinach, sausage, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. For dessert I cut up some strawberries added some blueberries and topped that with some French vanilla cream.

We kept that wood burner burning all day and burned through a lot of wood but I am so thankful for the heat.

He was SO funny flopping that ball around and bouncy with all 4 hooves in the air.
