I left before breakfast for Sam's club. The reason for that is we had no more eggs. I also picked up the food for the Sunday meal deciding on pot roast with carrots, onions and potatoes.
After unloading all the groceries breakfast was cooked and by this time it was already 8:30 am so the food tasted great. After breakfast we went out to work. Mark went over to mom's to start shoveling snow but it was so heavy with that ice from last night on top that he called for help. Mackenson and Berlica both came to help get mom's drive clear. I went up to the apartment as we have guests moving in today. The snow and ice was very thick and heavy. I shoveled as much as I could then put down salt on the thick ice that I was not able to chop away.
My muscles are sore tonight. Mark came in to warm up then went back out and used the skid steer to do more plowing. Hopefully our guests will be able to drive up the hill without slipping. Rhoda sent a MarcoPolo video of the slide Lee made for Iris and Zeke. That looked like so much fun that Zion and Eden asked if they could come over to play. Sarah had Israel and Elisabet as David took Stephanie out to lunch for her birthday. Those kids were having fun playing out in the snow. Rhoda ended up inviting everyone to come for supper. About then Diane sent the two pictures below with the text Today for our 49th anniversary we renewed our vows with our "Skylines South" friends:
The ladies in the picture above got together and planned this, having a lot of fun getting the costumes and talking the men into it. They really are such a fun group!
Mark and I left for Rhoda's about 3:30 pm and when we arrived almost everyone was already here and there was already a game in progress.
The game was called Century Spice Road.
It was a lot of fun to play.
The girls were quick to show us the slide.
They learned it was much easier getting up the slide with no socks on but they didn't tell that to poor Zeke. Check out the video below.
Dinner tonight was Indian food. We had 3 different dishes to try plus the bread.
Only one dish was too hot for me but the guys all really liked it. Even some of the kids enjoyed the more blander dishes but Rhoda had also had other American food for them. After supper we played games. I don't remember the names but they were a lot of fun. We each had to write down on a slip of paper the name of a person. On the second slip a movie and the 3rd slip a song. Then we were divided into 2 groups and had 3 different timed rounds. The first round we could use words to describe. The second round was no words but we could make movements and the last round we could just say 1 word. After the games the kids came upstairs so Rhoda brought out the pin the lips on the lady game.
They had a lot of laughs with that game. Sarah brought out another game and I didn't catch the name of this one but played it, not too well though.
I only figured out the strategy about the time it was over. The evening all of us had a lot of fun and it all happened because Lee made the slide for the stairs.
