Packing For 24

As soon as I downed 2 cups of coffee this morning it was time to go to work. Tatiana was teased and  covered then the horses fed. After the walk the big trailer was backed into the doorway of the indoor arena so Tatiana and her filly along with Rosaleigh and her filly were loaded for the trip to Middle Grove. They were just unhaltered in the trailer and let loose and both mares immediately started grazing. Tatiana looked around a little for the herd but the grass was just too big of a temptation and neither mare called for the herd.
I had just pulled in and was backing the trailer when Karin arrived. She was taking a group to Jubilee. The trailer was left where it was, her riders showed up, helped her tack and load up and they were off.
Above is Hadassah waiting her turn and below are Missy and Tori.
Karin took 5 horses and 5 riders today so no one needed to ride double.  Horses taken were Sangria, Tori, Missy, Cookie and Hadassah. Riders were Karin, Magda, Livy, Emma and Wren.
They were gone for 4 or 5 hours.  Addyson and Jace came in to help prepare supper tonight. Below Addyson is helping with peeling the potatoes.
Jace had to first show me his find today. He found another baby snake and a frog and both were brought inside the house to show me.
We had a delicious dinner at mom's tonight of pork roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, fresh green beans, rolls and butter and mom's home made cookies for dessert. Jack was playing on the trampoline when a wasp flew out and stung him in the neck. Below he is resting with soothing paste of backing soda and water on his sting while Jace rides the rocking horse. Abe is underneath the horse.
All evening I've been packing for our vacation that starts tomorrow.  It isn't just our clothes, I haven't even started on that, what I've been packing is enough paper goods to last 24 people for 7 days enough food to last at least a couple days, bikes and toys. Last year at the end of the summer Dollar General had a big sale on their summer toys. Not only were they marked down they were buy 1 get 3 free. A bunch was bought and hidden away until this vacation. These 12 grandchildren are going to think it is Christmas all over.  We have a FULL truck load to take.
