Notice the floppy lower lip, this is one of the signs of a dummy foal. she had banged it up pretty bad before she was found.
I did not expect her to make it this far. I am so thankful for the help we are getting back at home while we are down her in Gulf Shores. Our morning started with rain, a storm came rolling in off the Gulf of Mexico but it didn't last long. Mom and I drove Aunt Jinnie to the Pensacola airport and by the time we got back to the condo the clouds were gone, the sun shining bright and Mark was down fishing. The Blues were running.
The heron was just waiting for a hand out.
The Blues were driving the minnows in toward shore which brought flocks of feeding gulls.
The gull below sights the fish and starts to dive.
Below his face is completely submerged in the water. He came out with a fish.
Mom headed out to fish but the current was pretty strong and she kept losing her balance.
Mom had left over bait shrimp that was starting to really smell, she gave these to the gulls.
We spent the afternoon on the beach or by the pool and all of us got too much sun today. We went to the Original Oyster House for dinner. I hadn't been there for a few years and was actually shocked at the prices. From there we decided to drive out to the pier and watch the fishermen.
The picture below was taken from the pier looking toward the city of Gulf Shores as the sun was setting behind some storm clouds.
When we arrived back at mom's condo Mark went out to sit on the porch swing and a fox came out to go hunting for dinner in the dunes.
