The Sun Shines

It didn't matter that it was just 46 degrees outside, this morning the sun was shining. What a difference that bright round light makes in one's attitude.  Jewel's colt was sore where the shot was given yesterday and still has some diarrhea but was still strong. They were turned out in the pasture. At first Jewel was keeping a close eye on her colt as Valiant is in the next pasture over.
But once she was sure he was going to stay on his side of the fence she dropped and rolled.
Her colt is really special, check out that long bushy tail, the length of neck, the short back and upright stance. He really is going to be a super star.
The other mares and foals were turned out into the pond pasture.
Lola's filly and Soul's colt were having a ball galloping around leaving their grazing mom's. When Soul realized her colt was  out of sight she took off at a gallop to find him.
She scolded him and took him right back over the dam to the other side of the pond. Check out that big splash as they run across the dam.
We have had so much rain. Below Rosaleigh's filly is heading over to see what the Galena's filly, Lola's filly and Soul's colt were looking at.

This afternoon, once Karin got off work she took our guests over to the cabin to tack up 3 horses. Mike and Diane arrived. Diane brought out deli meat for Emma but she hadn't come over so Studly got it all.
Karin and Mike were discussing how Ripper has caused the only injuries and they have the bruises to prove it.  Saturday Karin took Ripper to Sandridge and as they were riding on the sandy trails, without warning he dropped and rolled forgetting she was on him.  She tried to jump off but the horn of the saddle caught her leg.
Then on Sunday Mike was riding and the saddle slid off, Mike baled on the fence thinking that would cushion his fall but instead he bruised his arm.
Karin was not taking Ripper today on the trails so the guests were safe. Karin led with Sally, Wrenna rode Missy and Michele rode Cookie. Studly is content to follow.

Studly loves the creek crossing but today that water was cold.
Below is the overflow for the big lake. Not much is coming out now but it was shooting way up when the lake was high.
As I was crossing the retention pond dam I noticed the line up of turtles trying to get some sun. They were stacked as tight as they could but a few slipped off the log when they heard the camera click.
I met the riders at the entrance to the field and they had fun as they let the horses run.
Below they are heading back when Valiant saw them,
he came thundering up to the fence line to see the girls and of course they had to stop to admire him.
He is so tall that he easily hangs over the fence calling as they walk by.
Below is the high five of coming back safe from the 'death trails'.

I've been scrubbing floors trying to get the dust off from the ceiling sanding. There is plaster dust everywhere.  Emma's bedding was all washed and hung out to dry today and now smells much better. She sure is a stinky dog.
