Four Funny Foals

We walked today, it was not raining and the sun was shining. We discovered the drive going up to Spark's was collapsing again so Mark came over and put some boulders in the hole which is about the size of a 2-3 feet circumference. He will shore it up better tomorrow. This morning the 4 mare and foal pairs were let out into the pond pasture together for the first time. Of course I had to take pictures although it was a non event. These mares have lived together for a few years and all know and like each other.
While I was on the dam a pair of geese came flying in and wanted to land in the pond but the pair of geese with the 6 goslings were not happy about that and the gander chased them right out of the pond.

Soul's colt was trying to tease Rosaleigh's filly and she let him have it.
Check out her ears, she was mad. He is going to learn very fast not to mess with the girls.
She chased him right back to his mama.
He is such a character, he had to find something to play with and broke a branch off of the fallen tree to play with.
When he dropped that he went back and broke off another stick.
Smart colt! Galena's filly enjoyed a good roll to help scratch her back.

When the sun finally came out all of the foals ended up taking naps.

Above is Rosaleigh's filly and below is Soul's colt. They soon stretched all the way flat and slept.
The sun just happened to shine on the redbud tree just as I was walking back to the house.
Jewel was turned out in the back field and she too enjoyed a good roll, getting herself covered in mud again but check out that baby bump. She is due in a week.

If interested in the rest of the pictures taken this morning click HERE.  Karin came over after work today to help tease mares. Soul is now in her foal heat and was covered by Evan today and Lola is now in her second heat and covered by Valiant. Karin picked up Kensley today and below Kensley is petting Lola's filly.
As long as Kensley was here AND wearing her Horsemeister shirt we decided to do a video and pictures of Ivan as we have someone inquiring about him.

He is only 8 and a half months old and check out the thick curly FEATHER this colt has.
Below is a short video taken today.
The lady interested in Ivan is checking into shipping charges, she lives in New Jersey.  This evening Jewel was brought back inside. She isn't bagged up and has very little waxing. Today a little colostrum was squeezed out and it still looks clear but there is still too much mud. Mark mowed this evening but the grass really was too wet. We are suppose to have a dry day tomorrow and Sunday but then the rain moves back in with rain predicted most of next week.  It was a good day.
