Grandma's Gift for Mother's Day

Each year we hold a work day at grandma's the day before Mother's Day as a gift to grandma. Each year who ever is in charge starts putting up lists for the day and Joan was in charge this year.
She had a bunch of chain saws ready to go, weed whackers, fuel cans, lots of rags, rakes, brooms wheelbarrows and lawn tools. In the picture above most of the items have already been claimed and are being used.

We had enough workers to have some working inside washing down all the logs in this log home.

Below is a group that is water proofing the balcony. There are many more pictures which were posted on our Facebook page.
Mom bought pizza for everyone for lunch and by noon almost all the work was done on the list and more.

We had ice cream bars for dessert along with Rachel's special brownies.
After the work was done Karin took a bunch out on a trail ride.
I took a bunch out on the golf cart and got stuck in the mud. So stuck that all the kids had to get off the cart to help push except Faith. We made her drive the golf cart off of the mud. We may be muddy but we were soon on our way back.
When we arrived back at the playground Ebby flushed out a mama mouse who was in the process of delivering her baby mouse.

Joan caught the mama, it actually went into her shoe while Faith ran and got a bucket.
Once the mama and baby were both in the bucket the little kids all picked grass to help the mama make a new nest and feel safe. Joan took the mice home with her. She has a cat with kittens but I'm more than sure these mice will live long and prosper.
Faith and Ava came over to see the new foals and both had a ball petting Eliza's colt. This boy loves kids.
The Sceggel family decided as long as we were all out here we may as well celebrate Sarah's birthday along with Jack, Jace and Israel. Rhoda and Lee went in to Kroger and bought chicken for our meal.

Kenzie's owner picked her up today. The horses were fed late tonight. Phil hard wired the monitor to the apartment so we never have to worry about it getting knocked off our net work. We are more than ready for bed.
