Working Hard

Today was a work day. The rain stopped just before we started the walk but started back up again just as we started. We decide to walk anyway. The temperature was at 45 which was the high of the day. We stopped in at mom's and brought a bunch of water in with us.  As soon as breakfast was over I took the car up to the apartment to get that ready for the guests coming in today.  Once that was done I went to the barn to get that ready. The fridge and freezer compartment really needed to be cleaned before the new guests arrive tomorrow. While working there we heard the bedroom smoke detector going off again.  Mark had already taken the 8 foot ladder upstairs when he and Mackenson were putting up the plastic sheeting and he still had one side to go so wanted to finish that before bringing the ladder down. I went up to help and took the new softball pitching machine upstairs then ended up moving the furniture back against the wall. Phil and Anna arrived to help us first with the floor scrubber as neither of us could open the valve to drain the used water and then they helped me move the furniture.

Phil and Anna took the old pitching machine home. Phil thinks he can fix it.
Mark helped me put the new machine together. That was pretty straight forward.
Of course I needed to hook it up and try it out. It worked perfectly.

He left then as he had an appointment to get the oil changed in his car. I was able to finish all 3 bathrooms, the gym hallway and almost finished cleaning out the storage closet when he got back.
Mark needed my help to finish the last wall then once that was up, he worked on putting the zipper door in.
Once that was in we could take the ladder back downstairs and start on the smoke detector.
He was not able to get it to stop beeping so removed it and brought it home so he could order a new one. I'm not sure if we can get one bought by tomorrow afternoon but will give it a good try. The ladder was left at the barn just in case. I almost finished sweeping the upstairs when we ran out of time. We got back to the house by 5:00 pm, had just enough time to get ready to leave by 5:30 for church. Tonight was family night. Barb and Dale along with Molly and Gabe served the dinner that started at 6:00 pm. At 7:00 pm Amy and Tofig told us about how Tofig came to America as a Muslim and ended up a Christian in the Bloomington AC church. They told about the mission where they met and how then ended up married. To watch this click HERE. We didn't stay too long after. I am really tired and tomorrow will  need to finish the upstairs and wash windows tomorrow and have it all done by noon. It was a good day to work inside. The temperature dropped, the wind rose trying to shake the buildings and the snow came down horizontal. Thankfully it was not snowing on the way home.
