We had another cold morning but later the sun came out and the thermometer rose into the 40s. We stopped in at mom's after the walk and Karin was cooking breakfast so Joan helped mom walk to the table.
Joan was wearing her hobo coat but it didn't seem to matter today, no one offered her a nicer coat. She said she is keeping it because it is WARM. Warmth is much more important that looks and I agree. We walked her home then it was time to cook Mark breakfast. Today I had guests moving in the barn and the apartment so went to the apartment first to turn the lights on and make sure none of those pesky Asian beetles found their way inside. There were a few so I was glad I checked. From there I went straight to the barn. Today I got the windows cleaned and then the upstairs organized and cleaned. Below are pictures of the finished project.
I took a quick video of the room for the website.
The last job was to check all of the gym doors and sweep up those horrible smelling Asian beetles that found their way in. It is crazy how many I've swept up. Today they were dumped outside on the ice. I hope they DIE!
By this time it was almost 1:00 pm and we were hungry. I fried up a couple of pork chops, added a salad and a baked potato.
Mark was pleased. After lunch I left for Diane's office so we could reconcile 3 months of the Horsemeister checkbook. I also called Hoerr Vet clinic to get the total of all the vet calls Sunday, Monday and Tuesday but all of the charges weren't in yet. I asked Emma to send me a text with the total when she has it. When I got back Mark and Mackenson were hard at work sanding boards.
Mackenson is getting good at sanding with all this practice. They are building 3 sets of triple bunk beds.
Then it was time to start cleaning this house. Not my favorite job and I started that when I remembered I had not yet cleaned the 3 stalls from Tuesday so was glad to quit and go back out to the barn. Crazy how it is much nicer to clean up horse manure than do dishes, dusting and sweeping. We have swept up so many of those awful Asian beetles that the vacuum stunk and had to be emptied outside. Why oh WHY did Pandora open that box? Oh well I am still thankful to live here and feel extra blessed to be living by lots of family.
