Berean Day

Tuesdays are Berean days, one my favorites. The cinnamon rolls were baked yesterday and iced while they were still warm so the icing melted into them. This morning a small batch of icing was whipped up and put on top of them.

They would need to be served warm but were for sure going to be sugary with two layers of icing. Mom and I arrived at the Berean office at 8:50 am and went right to work. We had one disappointing thing happen. We got a piece of mail back that the post office put a notice on that we didn't have enough postage on. Each time we send the studies, and we have sent thousands they all hold exactly 4 pieces of paper and one return envelope. We know it weighs exactly an ounce. Marvin has a scale and weighed it.
It should NEVER have been rejected. Exactly an once. Of course we put the study in another envelope and mailed it right back. I'm thinking the post office's scale needed to be reset. We had another good mail day with over 30 Bible requests.

At 9:30 am we met in the other room for the prayer. Below we are waiting for Skip who was bringing in 4 boxes full of reams of paper.
After the paper was put away, Skip had our prayer then Kathy shared a letter Shirley opened.

We had a very good morning. We stopped at the Hanna City post office to drop of the full tub of Bibles piled high with studies. I was thankful Rachel, the post-misstress, saw us coming and opened the doors for me. Mark and Mackenson had filled the wood trailer and Mark wanted help hooking the tractor up to that to bring over to our house. He drove the tractor and I followed him on the golf cart.
there is still a huge amount of logs to split.
After parking it at the wood shed I left to go back to the barn to keep cleaning. We have guests coming in tomorrow and there were still windows to wash and floors to mop. When I finished Mark and Mackenson were busy emptying the wood trailer.

I'm really thankful for all of that wood. Maybe next winter will be mild and maybe not but we are getting prepared.
The new ping pong paddles had arrived so those were taken over to the barn.
Of course I had to try them out. They work, the ball bounces just fine. It was past supper time when we both got done and both of us were tired. Instead of cooking we decided to go to Gils Supper club for a cobb salad. We also decided to get a platter of their special fried onion rings, eat some and share the rest with mom and Karin.
The only thing we should have done different was ask for crispy chicken instead of the teriyaki. The teriyaki is always a little tough, tasty but tough. The crispy chicken is their fried chicken fingers and are really good with the salad. We both enjoyed the break from work. I think we will both sleep good tonight.
