Last night after trudging up with 2 buckets of water from the house and filling Valiant's waterer the water was turned on to the barn then off in 10 minutes before heading to bed. At midnight the water was turned back on for 10 more minutes then I did not get up again until 5:00 am to turn it back on. That may have been a mistake as when it was light enough to see Evan's waterer was empty and frozen. I brought 2 hair dryers over from the new barn and put one in Evan's and one in Valiant's and filled both of those with water. The line probably froze because I had no water flowing through it every few hours like the night before. By the time I was done with hauling water it was past breakfast time and we were both hungry. Mark told me to splurge and give him 2 eggs this morning. I also baked biscuits, cooked a few sausages and cut up an avocado.
We had used the last of the wood when we first got up so after breakfast went to work bringing in more wood.
Mark left then for Kroger and Aldi and brought back some delicious grapefruit and oranges along with another dozen eggs and a few other foods. The snow pictures from Gulf Shores started to arrive.
Diane called to tell us how the locals are loving this snow. There were people on the beach making snowmen, snow angels, a jeep was giving kids rides down the roads on a big floating unicorn. Cathy Kieser sent the picture below of their patio.
Everyone was excited and happy as all the schools and all work places were shut down for this amazing record breaking snow. This afternoon Tim came to help with the water leak.

He found the shut off for the yard hydrant and once that was shut off the water could be turned back. It had warmed up to 26 degrees and really did feel warm by this afternoon. The hair dryers worked in both of the frozen automatic waterers and those were both finally running. What a relief! No more getting up and night to turn on the water. I'm going to sleep good tonight! Mark and Mackenson worked on filling the porch with wood and organizing the wood shed for the next cold spell which is coming tonight. The prediction is 2 degrees. We skipped supper tonight leaving for church at 6:00 pm. Mike Kaisner had the message opening to Job 1 and then reading both Job 1 and 2 and then of course finishing up with the last chapter. Click
HERE if you would like to watch that. Hannah was sitting up with us with Chelise. After church was over she was smiling while we were playing peek-a-boo but right when the phone came out the smile disappeared.

We visited for a while before leaving for Culvers. It started snowing on the way home.
Just one more piece of the news of the day. Jackie has laid an egg.
Hopefully Jackie and Shadow can expect at least one eagle chick the end of February. Eagle egg gestation is 35 days.
