Well the news when we woke up this morning was surprising. Donald Trump was declared the victor and will be our new president. The news went around the world pretty quickly and I think a lot of people were shocked. Those were the people that believed that believed voters cared more about abortion and a women of color president than those who were concerned with the border, economy, and free speech. We who are vacationing down here in Alabama were more concerned with the rain right now. The rain was off and on all day. I went over to mom's condo around 9:00 am. Sarah already had her girls out on the beach but Joan had Daisy and Anni out on the balcony with a dishpan full of water and lots of beach toys. Those are 2 of Sarah's girls in the picture below on the beach.

The Pelicans
When the rain started back up Sarah took the girls to the pool area and Joan's grand children soon joined them.
Sarah fed her girls at the pool while Joan took Bethany's kids upstairs for lunch.
Soon everyone made it down by the pool, even mom and Aunt Jinnie. Although Aunt Jinnie stopped on the 3rd floor to use the exercise machines for a half hour before she came down.
Sarah had been working with Daisy on her swimming and they needed to show Joan when she arrived.
Next River needed to show us how she was learning how to swim.
Just after watching her I noticed a huge flock of birds right off shore and thought at first they were gulls. It didn't take me long to realize these were pelicans diving into the water and swooping up fish. Something big was under the fish forcing them to the surface. I took the video from the pool area but it was fascinating to watch them dive over and over.
The kids stayed down for a long time today as Joan was needed over at Lani Kai. She took Berlica and Mackenson with her to finish some work there. It was raining again hard by the time I was ready to walk back to Diane's condo so I called Sarah to come pick me up. By 5:15 pm though the rain had stopped so I walked back over to mom's condo. We adults left Berlica in charge and left for Desota's for dinner. Janet and her two boys, William and Peter joined us as did Beth and Greg.Above is Janet, below William is helping Aunt Jinnie with the menu while Peter talks to Greg.
Aunt Jinnie ordered Royal Reds ( a deep water shrimp that tastes like lobster).
William had decided on crab cakes but didn't care for them, they were too fishy tasting. The rest of our meals were really good.
We made it back to mom's condo in time to watch Bob Hoerr speak at the Fellowship hall. The internet connection wasn't very good and we missed a lot of what he talked about so hopefully we can try to listen on-line later. Now it is late and I'm tired. A very good day.
