Another cloudy morning but today those clouds we thought were going to last all day showed us a bit of promise way out at sea. Can you see the bright line in the picture below?
That is the SUN shining on the Gulf Waters. That sun arrived around 9:30 am. Sarah had already taken her girls out to the beach. I went to mom's to help Joan get the chairs and other supplies down while Joan drove mom in her dune buggy.
We had a beautiful morning on the beach, warm weather with just enough breeze to keep us comfortable.
Peter brought his pole out to fish with Greg. When he had something big on we all went to see what he caught.
That turned out to be a big sting ray.
Joan brought down some leftovers to feed the gulls.
William came down and went for a walk down the beach with his grandma, our Aunt Jinnie.
The kids played for hours. Joan, Peter and Greg decided to take the boat out to fish and after it got hot mom wanted to go up to the condo so we drove that dune buggy up to the building with no problem. The problem came when trying to get that big wheeled machine into the elevator. I got too close to the edge and the door scraped mom's leg a little. She has such inexperienced help! After trial and error we finally got her back up to her condo without any other problems. Mom and Aunt Jinnie were able to rest and cool down in the condo for a couple hours. After lunch they went down to the pool to join the rest. Bill and Bethany had arrived and all of the family were now at the pool.
Mom decided she wanted to get in the hot tub so Aunt Jinnie was going to dump her into that in the picture below.
They were laughing as that was not really the plan. Neither of them had their suits on. Sarah and Bethany decided to at least have mom's feet feel the hot tub.Joan left to get supper started but the rest of us stayed down for another hour. We took mom back up then went down to get Sarah and the girls for the ride back to Diane's condo so we could get some food cooking for supper. We hauled our food over to join Joan's food and all ate together. 6 of the kids got to eat out on the balcony while the rest of us found seats.
On the way back the kids went into the stairwell to sing a song. I missed the first verse and they forgot a few words on the second verse but then remembered and sang them quickly.
They came back in and got out the crabs to show Zion, Eden and River.
They will be taking these crabs home with them to Indiana.
William was telling me they eat vegetables and fruit and even other hermit crabs. Joan told us they are scavengers.
