And The RAIN Comes Down

We awoke to rain but it stopped by 7:30 am. By the time I got up to start the chores, one of our guests was already outside grooming Oksana and Skye.  She is only 13 years old but I put her right to work first covering Cinnamon with Evan then feeding all the horses. As a reward and because the rain was holding off we brought Jenis inside.
Jenis was groomed and tacked up then taken to the round pen.
Avery did so well in the round pen we went out to the fields for a good gallop but met her mom out walking one of their dogs.

Jenis enjoyed the cool water after a fun ride.
Jenis was put away and Avery had to say good by as it was time for her folks, their 2 dogs and her 3 siblings to leave. If you would like to see the rest of the pictures of Avery's ride on Jenis click HERE.  About that time Karin arrived and the first job she was asked to do was to work with mom. Mom wanted to ride Jenis and practice her rising trot. Karin tacked up Jenis and took her back to the round pen while I took the golf cart over to mom's and picked her up for her ride on Jenis.
The last mare mom rode was Cookie and Cookie is a smooth riding Tennessee Walker and mom really wanted to ride a Friesian to rise to that big trot.

Molly was relieved when mom got off the horse.
If interested in seeing the rest of the pictures of mom riding Jenis click HERE.  I took mom home while Karin got Valiant out. I just had to take the picture below as Karin is wearing one of those old Horsemeister shirts.
Valiant has such a big canter but he is so well balanced in that big canter.

Karin put Valiant away and took out Evan. Of course the first thing he wants to do is drop to roll.
Karin is using the clicker training with him and as soon as he heard that clicker he sat up and waited for his treat.

Evan wandered over to the mounting block where his lead rope was laying.
He picked it up and was waving it around when the chain hit the mounting block, he dropped it shocked and spooked hurling himself into the air.
He stopped and looked back as if to say, "I wasn't really scared."
He is such a funny stallion. He was put away, Karin left and I went to work on the apartment collecting all the laundry and taking it down to the house to wash. We are down to 17 % of propane at the apartment and I'm trying to conserve just in case the propane company doesn't show up this week. The queen airbed from the apartment is no longer holding air and this time I ordered one off Amazon that is guaranteed for 2 years. It had good reviews and has it's own built in air compressor.  Mark worked on mowers all morning then after lunch we split more wood until 4:30 pm. We quit when it was obvious we were going to be rained out.  Mark got soaked putting the tractor back up in the barn but I made it in the house dry. The rain has been pouring down all evening and is suppose to keep raining most of the night and all day Sunday. We are thankful it held off, as we had a very productive day.
