Meister Christmas

It was not snowing during our walk but when the snow started it really was beautiful. The horses' backs were soon covered with snowflakes.

Below are the beautiful light fluffy snowflakes accumulating on a few plants.
I made 30 deviled eggs and then my dessert for the Meister Christmas and hauled them over to the barn along with the presents I had wrapped earlier.  The snow was covering the driveways and the roads by this afternoon and I wasn't sure how good the roads were be into Peoria but the chicken needed to be picked up by 4:30 pm. The roads were snow covered out here in the country but passable just didn't want to go faster than 45 mph. I made it in to Kroger right at 4:30pm. We didn't need the chicken until 6:00 pm but the cook at Kroger told me the latest I could come is 4:30. I made it back by 5:15 pm and the 220 pieces of chicken were put in roasters. By then the family were all arriving. Below are a few pictures of the party.
Nancy was so excited, she pulled Joan down on her lap.
The food was delicious.

As soon as they finished eating the kids went off to play.

After calling everyone in from the games we sang a couple Christmas songs then Spark read the Christmas story.
The kids have to correct him each time he reads something wrong. They are quite good at that job. Next came the presents. Each child anxiously waits to hear their name called.
They open their gift from grandma, show it to her and tell her thankyou.
We were missing all of John and Beth's family, the roads were too bad to come from Missouri, plus missing 8 from Diane's family at least 8 from Beth's family, 2 from my family plus a few others. We had chicken left over but if everyone had made it we would have run out of that. There was PLENTY of other food.
Below is a video of the day starting when the snow started falling then the party and finally mom calling all of her kids, their spouses, their kids, and finally her great grand children.

It really was a wonderful day celebrating the birth of Jesus.
