Wet Monday

We awoke to rain and it kept raining until around 9:30 am. We canceled the walk. Mark emptied the rain gauge so I'm not sure how much we got but everything was muddy. It was my turn to be at mom's today.  Each morning after breakfast Aunt Jinnie reads out of her book (the one she wrote) to mom.

There are so many memories in that book and we all enjoy listening to Aunt Jinnie reading it.  As soon as Karin came home I drove down to Kroger to pick up a treat for the Berean volunteers tomorrow then to the Peoria post office to pick up the Berean mail.  I stopped at Sam's club on the way to the Berean office just to pick up cat food. This is a 38 pound bag for $30.00 but lasts quite long as long as I keep it in the house and don't feed the raccoons. The Berean mail was dropped off at that office before heading home.  Once home I made candied pecans to go on top of the sweet rolls picked up at Kroger. Mark was home and was out grading the driveways fixing the erosion the 7 inches of rain made.  We had a load of gravel delivered on Thursday and Mark was able to use quite a bit of that to fill some of the craters left from the rushing rain water. Spark and Rhonda brought some of Jay and Tara's kids over to the barn before the volley ball started up. The Monday night girls volley ball teams were going to play inside tonight as the outdoor sand court was saturated.  The boys found the upstairs game room and had a lot of fun trying out the games.

Even Rhonda played.
The girls arrived at 7:00 pm.

The games were fun to watch.  Taunya brought Addyson, Jack, Jace and Abe. Addyson is on the Monday night teams. The boys went into the living area to play with the toys and Tara's boys soon followed them.

It was dark by the time the games were over. Below is a video of some of the night.
It is wonderful to see my grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews all enjoying the gym.
