Moving 28

Tom Haefli came to help Karin and me move mares and foals to Middle Grove. Our plan was to take 4 mares and 4 foals out, let them go to in the summer pasture, then lead the rest to the back gate from the original pasture to the summer pasture THEN bring home the riding horses. We were really pleased when all the mares and foals loaded into the big trailer without a fuss and the trip to Middle Grove went smooth. I drove in, we unloaded and let them go.

They were pretty thrilled to be back out on that lush green grass. In the picture above Hadassah, Jewel, Madiera, Rosaleigh and their foals are heading up to the round pen to find the rest of the herd.  From there we drove over to the orginal land and were really pleased to find the horses right there. When we got close to the gate we figured out WHY they were all there. Lola's colt was on the wrong side of the fence. Cookie was very worried about him, Lola was up on the hill side grazing letting Cookie do all the worrying. Karin opened the gate and Rockaway (Lola's colt) was glad to come running in.
He has turned out beautiful!  His foal coat is almost gone and he is rich black with that big white star. Someone is really going to be thrilled with him.  Irish's colt has also shed out his foal coat and is very striking mostly bright white with pitch black spots.
Jury's colt is VERY impressive.
I hiked up the hill to halter Lola and took the two pictures below for the owner of Soul's filly. She was born dark bay but also turned black.

She is quite tall. In 2 or 3 weeks I need to bring 6 foals home to wean. Tom led Lily at the front, Karin led Rosalie and Irish in the middle and I lead Lola toward the back and all the of others fell in line following us up the hill to the summer pasture gate.

The plan was to take the halters off the mares and put them on the riding horses. When we reached the top Karin took the halter off Irish and put it on Mika. Tom opened the gate and the horses all filed in but before we got halter Missy, Cookie and Sangria, Missy was so thrilled to be in the summer pasture she took off at a gallop.
That set off the entire herd.
About that time as they ran off into freedom we decided those riding horses could be brought back another time, there was no way we wanted to start hiking. Karin let Mika loose to go find the herd and this racing bred 21 year old gelding took off like a bullet.
We hiked back to the truck and trailer and drove home with an empty trailer. All the time remarking on how smoothly that all went. We 3 people moved 28  horses today without a problem. Rain had been predicted to start in Farmington at 9:00 am and there was no rain the entire time we were there. IF you would like to see the rest of the pictures from Middle Grove click HERE.  Thankfully the rain held off until we got home. Once home the trailer was backed into it's parking spot.  My next job was to drive to Sam's Club to pick up food for tomorrow's meal. That store was really crowded.  On the way home I stopped at Casey's for gas and was pleased to see they had gas.  Last night there were notices that they were again out of gas. And FINALLY finally the truth comes out and I quote from the video below, "People that have had Covid now have complete and durable Covid immunity."  "You CAN'T BEAT natural immunity." "they do NOT need to be vaccinated and do not need to be tested" Please if you want the truth please please watch the video below, do it for your own sake!
