37 Cents a Pound

Ruth called off the walk again today. It was just not very nice outside. Zion, Eden and River came down to tell me that Valiant's halter was broken. I was going to walk up to take it off of him but Zion figured out how to get it off. She gave him some grain and when he lowered his head she slipped it off. She is so little and he is SO tall I was very impressed. Mom wanted a bath this morning. She was so relaxed floating in that hot water on a chilly wet day, she didn't really want to get out. She is anxious to get back down to Gulf Shores. Today was laundry day for me and while the machines were running cleaned out the sock drawer and spent time mating up socks, throwing away socks without mates and those with holes in them. The picture below is of all the socks found in the barn during this summer.

They are now all washed but so far no one has claimed them. If they don't get claimed soon they will end up at the mission. Mark was busy working on the garage but spent some time putting the yield sign on a T post and then installing it down by the bottom of our drive.
He almost ran into Faith one day as she was coming down the main drive as he was heading out to the road. It is a good reminder to look right before going. Rhonda sent a message that Schnucks had turkeys for sale for 37 cents a pound but need to spend $25.00 more not including the turkey. That is a good buy so planned on going tomorrow. We picked up Berlica and Mackenson for church tonight as Joan is staying with mom. Caleb Plattner had the message. Click HERE if you would like to watch that. He spoke on Genesis 28, Jacob's ladder. After church we ate a late dinner at Culvers then realized Schnucks is still open and only 2 minutes from Culvers so got there at 8:50 pm. They only had ONE left at that price and it was exactly 20 pounds. Then I just had to figure out what was a good enough buy to spend $25.00. I found stuffing mix on sale and sweet gherkins also on sale. Mark wanted some lemons and he picked out 3 of those spending more on those 3 than a whole bag of lemons at Aldi. A bunch of bananas and I was at $25.37.  The entire bill came to $32.77. The 20 pound turkey cost $7.40 The turkey was put in the barn fridge to slowly start defrosting. I will need to cook it on Wednesday as there is so much other food that needs to go in the oven on Thursday.
