The Co-Op Play

Bad news early this morning, the Meister Heating truck was stolen. That truck is pretty essential. Phil had the thief on video and called the police. The police seemed to know who he was but didn't give us any hope in getting the truck back. That was the first part of the bad news. The next bad news was the waterer in the indoor arena had been bent down and there is now wet ground around the base. Terrible weather to need to dig a hole and replace a hydrant. Tom was called and will come tomorrow. The 3rd piece of bad news was the frozen waterer. I took a screw driver out to get the cover off and either I am extra strong or the screw driver extra weak. That broke before getting the job finished.

Another really cold night and day, it stayed below freezing all day. The weather man made the comment this is even colder than our usual January weather.  All of the water buckets were frozen. The fillies were glad for fresh water.
The walk got canceled because Joan was on her way to a funeral up by Chicago and Diane was not feeling well. I was very glad about that as I was still dealing with ice and water. The water tank in the barn was full to the brim and had to be drained so it could be moved so the hydrant could be dug out. I needed to be at mom's by 8:00 am and was able to get a hair drying going in the automatic waterer before leaving for mom's.  At 9:00 am Aunt Jinnie was working with mom on the book so I ran back over to the frozen waterer to check if it was defrosted but it was not so had to run back one more time 30 minutes later. The second time it was finally defrosted.  At 10:30 am Berlica was picked up and driven to Calvery Baptist for her madrigal practice. Right after lunch it was time to get ready to head to the Co-Op play, The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. Rebekah was the director and her two oldest were in the play as was Tim (Marie's son) Faith (Joan's daughter) and Alecia & Isabel (John and Serena's girls).  Rhoda and Sarah both came to the play bringing Zion, Iris and Zeke. Fedi and Ruth drove mom and Aunt Jinnie and Mark met us there. It was very well attended and we all really enjoyed watching. Below is Zeke and Walter (Rebekah and Brian's youngest) getting to know each other.
I  had a great seat so was able to video some of the play which is posted below.
When the play was over Mark and I drove to Avanti's to pick up dinner, dropped Joan, Faith, Mackenson and Berlica's meal as they were all staying until the 7:00 pm showing of the play then took the rest of the food over to mom's for dinner. We all feasted. After leaving mom's I still needed to check waterers and found the fillies paddock was open. The colt's water bucket had ice so that was dumped and fresh water given. He was also given more hay but I didn't clean his stall. Just too tired. He is leaving tomorrow for  his new home so hope he stays clean.
