No walk this cold 16 degree morning. Diane went with Mike to pick up their new mare and Joan had co-op. Ruth and I were glad to skip. I spent the morning working at the barn getting windows and mirrors cleaned. The pantry and broom closet were also cleaned and organized. I took a lot of the supplies home but brought others over. Ruth brought over a couple metal chairs to go with the table we put out on the front porch of the apartment.
I pulled two of the hog panels we used for bale feeders out.Tomorrow Valiant will get a new bale, a new bale will be put in for the new mare, the colts will get a new bale and we will pull one out for Ryan's goats. There is plenty of hay left in the shelters and now that the bale feeders are out the horses have easy access to finish up the hay. We are supposed to have above freezing temperatures tomorrow. Mike and Diane pulled up this afternoon after a successful trip picking up Star Temple.
Star was owned by a former governor of Illinois. She was a little hesitant walking off the trailer.
Below is the video of her walking off the trailer and walking into the paddock.
She was a little too afraid to go over to meet Valiant but was glad to meet the two colts.
After she settled down Diane walked home, Mike moved the trailer and unhooked it from his truck. I cleaned out the trailer then Mark helped me hook up my truck to the trailer as Joan is borrowing it tonight to move the madrigal props from the Fellowship Hall back to the storage area at Calvary. They were very happy to have the use of the fellowship hall for the Madrigal this year. I left then to drive to Kroger to order and pay for the fried chicken for the Meister Christmas December 12th. We decide we needed 220 pieces this year. I also bought two thighs while there for our supper tonight. Joan sent a text that we needed 5 fruit baskets Sunday. I had already made 4 so just had to make one more.
This one was put with the other 4 and the hot chocolate that also needs to go Sunday.
What I didn't get done today was laundry. The sheets were changed but with working at the barn and outside the machines were not started. That will need to be done tomorrow or we won't have clothes for Sunday.
