Lap Full of Puppies

A storm came through last night dropping lots of limbs, sticks and leaves. Ruth told us at her house they had 51 mph wind gusts at her place and we probably had the same. We had another really hot day. On our walk, mom had to stop and we thought she was going to faint. Ruth and Diane helped her by holding her while she put her head down while I ran (tried to run) for the golf cart. We think it is the heat and humidity. At 10:30 am mom and I went first to Aldi for a few groceries then across the street to Walmart to pick up the fans Joan ordered and paid for which were going to go down to Island Royale condo for the bunk bedroom. That room has triple bunks, sleeps 6 and each bunk had it's own fan, light and USB ports but 2 of the fans were not working.

Joan had us pick up 4 so she has a couple extra if any others go out. She is in Gulf Shores now working on that condo. None of the stores down there had the fans in stock. Diane is leaving on Friday for Gulf Shores and will take them down with her.  Once the fans were picked up, btw I would never bother ordering a pick up order at the Walmart on University. They were VERY unorganized and not at all efficient. From there mom and I drove to Culvers to eat lunch with the Lunch Bunch. Mark came home a little early and was hungry so I made him a BLT, first going out to pick a very red juicy vine ripened tomato. Another storm blew in around 6:15 pm, just as we were picking mom up for church. The wind was gusting hard and there was a constant rumble of thunder. It was raining pretty hard on our drive in so we decided to go the town way instead of the interstate and got all the way to Farmington hill and had to turn around. The police had the road blocked off, not sure if a tree fell across the road or power lines were down. We ended up getting to church by going on 474 and still made it in time. When we got out of church it was still raining and the lightning was putting on quite a show. The rain stopped just as we pulled in mom's house. When we went into the house the lights weren't working. She did not lose power as part of the house has lights. She was going to ask Anni and Matt to check the breakers. Hopefully the house didn't get hit by lightning while we were gone. Karin and Jackie took Nancy over to Rebekah's to see their Bernadoodle puppies. Nancy LOVED the lap full of puppies.
