Training Tori
After our walk today I worked on the Berean pictures and placed them on yesterday's blog. If you don't want to go to yesterday's blog but want to see the pictures from the banquet click HERE. Our guests left around 11:00 am and even though I didn't think there was any hurry to get the place cleaned up I ran up to put the sheets and towels in the washer before doing any horse work. You see I'd much rather be horsing around then cleaning. Right about then a 2 night booking came in for Sept 27th and 28th. Still lots of time to worry about cleaning the apartment but while I was up there the garbage was all collected, the dishwasher run and the machine's changed. Yesterday Rhoda worked with Tori and today we had Claire come to help out with Tori. I have a person interested in her and she wanted to see a video.
Tori did well but she hasn't had a lot of arena work and found it difficult to hold her canter. She is a sweet mare and tries hard to please and I was WELL pleased with her effort. Of course lots of pictures were also taken for the website.
Claire only had about an hour but that was plenty of time to make the video and get pictures. IF you would like to see the rest of the pictures of Tori's training session click HERE. As soon as Claire left I came inside to work on the video when Mark got home and wanted help with splitting those huge logs. We only got 3 of them split tonight but those 3 sure did make a lot of fire wood. He had already started splitting the first of the 3 but below are the last 2.
Check out that pile of fire wood, too bad it is green and won't be usable until 2020.
We quit at 5:00 pm, came in and made dinner of fresh asparagus and fish fillets. Dinner wasn't quite done when another booking came in for the apartment but this one was for TONIGHT!
That meant a soon as dinner was done I had to go to Dollar General to pick up water (I always put bottled water in the fridge for guests) AND tonight also bought an anniversary card, then finish cleaning the apartment. This booking is a husband and wife celebrating their 10th anniversary with a trip away from their little ones.
Ryan came late to start mowing the fields and finished up mowing in the dark. These are hard working farmers that no longer work from sun up to sun down but work late into the night. No rain is predicted so we should get this cutting up dry!
