We had a milder day temperature wise but the wind picked up and was sustained at 20-30 mph. This evening though the temperature dropped like a stone and the wind is gusting 40 to 50 mph. We walked then stopped in at mom's Karin gave us all a taste of her honey cookies. They are really good but nothing like mom's honey cookies.
Diane and mom took two boxes this morning to Bible study to share them with that group. Diane said they all enjoyed them. Today was decorating day at our house. Well at least I got a few lights up in the windows.
These were the battery operated lights we used on the Friesian mares during the performances. I just needed to take all the black tape off of them and put in new batteries. I didn't have enough for all 3 windows so used colored lights for the big window.
The temperature started dropping this afternoon and with the wind we really needed the wood burner burning wood.
We left for church a little early and was there even before the doors were unlocked. We only had to wait about a minute before Joe arrived with the key. Tim Funk had the message today on Advent. To watch this message click HERE. After church we went to Culvers with a big group for a late dinner. As I'm in charge of making the fruit bowls to give away during the Christmas caroling on Sunday I needed some big bowls and Sarah just happened to have plenty.
She had 2 in her trunk so brought those into Culvers and we all agreed they would work perfectly. After we were finished with dinner we followed her home to her apartment and picked up another 4. Diane sent the video below of their drive coming home from church. We are really getting a LOT of wind.
It also started to snow and the snow was drifting across the roads. I think the snow is supposed to stop but by morning it is predicted to be 11 degrees with wind chills below zero. I'm sure thankful for the wood burner and tomorrow we might need to get both of them going.
