We had a gorgeous sunrise. Joan was first sending the picture below of mom enjoying the sun rising out of the Gulf of Mexico on her balcony.
Rhonda was next to send a picture of the sun coming up and reflecting on the lake.
Right about that time David sent the picture below of the sunrise over the Illinois River.
By this time I was out working. We can't see the sunrise from our farm but when the sky turned red over the trees I too took a picture.
When I turned around the entire Western sky was pink from the reflection on the clouds.
Such beauty but you know what the saying is: red sky in the morning is a sailor's warning, red sky at night is a farmer's delight. We had a storm move in late morning. Some really amazing lightning strikes and booming thunder.
No walk today again but there is still plenty to do. Jewel, Curlin and Sally were moved over to the far paddock as they were just about out of hay in theirs and there was plenty in the far paddock. Oliver and Madiera's colt were grained. Madiera's colt is doing great, he is not fussing much but when he saw Jewel being moved he started calling. Jewel and Madiera look a lot alike. Jewel did not call back so he went back to eating his grain. I left at 8:15 for the Berean office. We were busy today and I never thought to take a single picture. We were a little short handed as Bruce, Vonnie, Marvin, Aunt Jinnie and mom were gone. We still got done in good time and enjoyed coffee and pecan pie.
Dropping off the mail at the Hanna City post office was right during the downpour. We were glad for the rain though, the fields have been so dry. The rain only lasted about an hour which gave me time to work on the new website. When the sun came back out Curlin was groomed a bit and pictures taken of her for the website as we had none. She had burrs in her forelock so once those were out her forelock was bushy.
Tomorrow Jewel, Curlin and Sally are going to be taken out to Middle Grove. Since the rain was over I let Oliver and Madiera's colt out in the back pasture. We got so little rain that it dried before it could soak in. Notice in the video the dust when Oliver is pawing.
Mark was out working on preparing the land for the cement in front of the apartment.
He scraped it first and is adding lime and gravel to level it better before putting down the foam boards for insulation. The cement will be poured before he puts the addition up.
When I got back to the house the bouncy house blower fans had been delivered. Of course Mark and I had to make sure they worked and try out the house. With those fans the house fills with air in about 40 seconds.
Joan sent the picture below of mom enjoying the view in comfort.
She and Mackenson were able to carry the recliner out to the balcony. Mom really is in her happy place. Mark went back to work on the cement project while I worked in the house. We had Sunday leftovers for supper tonight and Mark declared it as good or better than Sunday. Of course I sautéed more onions and peppers and loaded those on the plate so it wasn't all leftovers.
