Barn Wedding

As I needed to be at mom's by 9:30 am I took the golf cart over to the wedding ceremony site the bride picked out. They had it all set up and ready.

Mom and I had a quiet morning. We watched as the workers for the wedding made trip after trip over to the ceremony place. Karin needed to drive to Maquon to mow her yard and did some grocery shopping after that arriving back around 2:00 pm. I left then and found Mark hard at work putting bolts in the reinforcement board.
Below he is drilling the holes for the bolts before putting them in.
As soon as he finished that job we hooked up the truck to Mark's aluminum trailer and drove down to the Springfield area to pick up a small hay rack. This is not for hay but will be used to give hay rack rides around the farm.

We got home around 6:30 pm, dropped off the truck and did not unload the hay rack but got straight in the car and drove to Aldi in Bartonville to buy the food for tomorrow's dinner. Mark had not had dinner but I had not had lunch or dinner so we drove over to Kroger and picked up my favorite an 8 piece fried chicken from the deli. It was still hot when we got home but must have been sitting in the warmer for quite a while. The meat was very dry. Mark added ketchup but I was too hungry and didn't mind the extra chewing. The airbnb guest in the foaling apartment shared the pictures he took of the bald eagle that was circling above our golf cart yesterday. He did a much better job taking pictures.
I so much appreciate him being willing to share them. They are such majestic birds, these symbols of America. So big, so free, soaring to great heights with those striking white tail and head feathers that gleam in the sun as they soar high overhead.
After the groceries were put away I baked a couple cakes for tomorrow's dessert but forgot to buy powdered sugar for the icing so sent out a group text. Joan had a package so I was able to make the icing and glaze the cakes pretty quickly after they came out of the oven. It is almost 9:00 pm and I still need to clean up the kitchen but Mark is tired and wants to go to bed right away. He got the bottom creek trails mowed today. Horsemeister has some exciting news but until it happens I'm not going to share it. Check back on Monday for that. Thankful the weather was nice for the wedding today.
