It got pretty cold last night and was just 47 degrees this morning when I went out to check the mares. Mark went for a long walk but I didn't taking it easy this Sunday morning, sitting in my very comfortable rocker and reading. I really do have it nice around here. I went over to mom's at 8:45 am, mom and I picked up Rhonda at 9:00 am and we were at church by 9:31 am, just in time to meet Nancy then go in for the singing. Ruth and Fedi along with Matt and Anni served lunch today so Joan's family and Diane and Mike came early to help. Gregg Rumbold had the morning message on Genesis 17 and Philippians 3 click HERE to watch that. Tim Funk had the afternoon message reading where Gregg left off but even more. He brought out something I had never thought, how our media instead of thinking on whatsover things are true, are honest, are just and pure, are lovely, are of good report, if there be any virtue and any praise think on these things, do the very opposite of each of these. To watch this message click HERE. Mark drove to church separately so he could run to Aldi on the way home and pick up powdered sugar to replace the bag I borrowed from Joan last night. After dropping mom and Nancy off I went home and started the spaghetti sauce then took the golf cart over to the cabin to bring Jury back. She was teased and is no longer in so was taken back to the cabin field. Jewel is still in and was covered by Evan. Mike had family over that wanted to go riding so he saddled up Jewel, Sally and Missy. Cookie wanted to go too but was instead taken back to the paddock.

Another Beautiful Sunday.
I didn't hear how the ride went as we were having our meal at the barn. We walked in and started killing flies, lots and lots of flies. The big garage doors had been left open on Friday and all day Saturday so the flies came in for a visit and brought their friends and family. I know I killed over a hundred. When Mark walked in he was given a fly swatter and he also started swatting flies. When Phil's family arrived they too were given fly swatters. Hopefully we can get them all killed before the next group arrives. One NEVER leaves doors open on purpose on a farm. Supper was good but there was a lot left over. Sarah and Rebekah are planning something at the barn on Tuesday night and were glad to claim the leftovers for that. As soon as supper was over the volley ball started up.
They put up snow fences on both sides of the court in hopes to stop a lot of chasing after the volley ball. Most of the time it went over the snow fence but when it stopped the ball everyone cheered. The games were really fun to watch. They were well matched and the volleys went on and on.
The grandchildren were having so much fun playing in the tree house. They found a 'poison caterpillar' but of course it really wasn't poison and once I held it they all wanted to hold it.
According to legend a wooley the bigger the brown in the middle the milder the winter. A wooley with very little brown or no brown means an extremely harsh cold winter. I told the kids the opposite. Hope I'm wrong. The 2 previous winters have been mild so we have been hopeful of a 3rd. We'd better start another woodpile for burning.
Of course I had to check out their tree house they were working so hard on. It isn't up in the trees it is under the trees.
Iris was busy playing with her new toy and was glad to share it with Zeke and Willa.
We had lots of babies again, well at least 3 Lucy, Harvey and Micah.
The evening was getting cool as the sun was getting low in the sky turning the sky red.
It was downright cold by the time the sun went behind the trees but the colors were sure pretty.
Tomorrow morning I leave for Michigan City, Indiana and if all goes well on this trip will be bringing home something special. More on that tomorrow.
