Restful Sunday

Last night before heading to bed the brownies were made, the brats were boiled so they could be precooked before grilling today then the kitchen cleaned up. This morning was such as easy morning. Just enjoy my coffee, my reading, our breakfast then shower and leave for church. It was truly a restful morning. We stopped to pick up Braelyn and arrived just in time to meet David and Stephanie's company for the day. Jeremy and Shara with their 8 children were going to spend the day in Peoria then come to our place after church. Jeremy had the morning message click HERE to listen to that and it was all on resting on the Lord's day.  Craig Stickling had the afternoon message click HERE to watch that. After church the food was all taken over to the barn. The company went swimming as it was really hot outside and the water perfect.

By the time they were done swimming supper was almost ready. Mark grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and brats and we had cold sweet watermelon, party potatoes, salads, peppers and chips for supper. Brownies and ice cream for dessert. We had a good crowd just missing Taunya's family but had 10 extra so another table was set up. After supper Zeke wanted to play in the bouncy house. Rhoda took all the kids that wanted to ride over to the round pen and gave each one lessons on Cookie.

Below the girls are waiting for their turns.
After Cookie was put away the golf carts were in high demand. The girls had the blue one and the boys the green one.

They played on the hay for just a few minutes but with the hot weather all of them decided to go back to the playground.

The volley ball games were going strong.
It wasn't too long before everyone headed back down to the lake.

Rhoda and Lee drove separate tonight so Rhoda took Nancy home to Morton saving me a 50 mile round trip. Lee stay as Iris wanted to swim more with the kids. No one was interested  in leaving until it started getting dark.

Diane brought her Gulf Shores group over after their bike ride to the Goose Ranch to play pickleball in the gym. I'm so thankful for the air-conditioning in that building that works well enough to play games in comfort. Below is a video of just some of the day's activities.
The wedding went well and the bride, who rented the building for the wedding left a nice 5 star review. Perfect place for our wedding celebration! Beautiful setting for our ceremony and plenty of space for our reception. Guests of all ages loved it! The horses were a perfect, and unique, addition.
They left the barn in very good condition, tomorrow I'll have to start on the laundry at the barn and at the apartment and refill all the supplies but I'm so thankful the barn works well for weddings. What a blessing that barn has been for our family, it truly is a gift from God and I'm thankful.
