Restful

I went to bed before without making the coffee for the morning but woke up around 11:30 pm and made myself get up and make it.  I really enjoy that first cup of coffee around 5:00 am. It was just starting to sprinkle at walk time so I grabbed an umbrella but didn't need it. Ruth was back from her camping trip at Montauk state park where she and Fedi spent the last few days and told us all about their trip. Fedi pretty much limited out each day with trout and they had some wonderful meals of that fresh trout. One weird thing happened though, Fedi lost the top half of the sight out of his right eye on the trip. More on that later. We heard pounding and when we reached Spark and Rhonda's house found Spark hard at work preparing his barn for a cement floor.

Rhonda and her siblings are doing a hard thing, preparing for their brother Chuck's funeral tomorrow. I think each one is going to speak.  I can't imagine losing one of my siblings and then one so young. When we reached the dumpster we saw something very strange. It was Mike dumpster diving. That's got to be a first.
It turned out he threw 2 pairs of boots away then when it rained realized he needed something to wear while working in the mud. He was getting them out of the bag to compare and see which would be better to keep. Rachel was with mom today.  I got all the laundry done for the big barn then took that over and mopped the floors. When that was done, my laundry at the house was done and the house cleaned up before heading outside to get firewood for the 5th wheel guest coming in tomorrow.
They were here in the spring and the morning they left booked again for tomorrow and Saturday and want to enjoy a fire like they did in the spring. The wood was taken over to the camper and left inside the barn just in case it rains again. The fire pit leaned up against the wood for easy access.
On the way back I stopped to check the mares. The 3 walkers were together grazing at the top.
Dancer and Titus were across the pond.  Ken's mare was teased again but again she said no.  I actually have to back her in to the gate to get any reaction and then so far has always been no. We are starting to think it may be too late in the season for her. The owner of Lily's filly and Madiera's colt contacted me about weaning day and pick up. We made out that they should both be ready to leave Nov 18th. That will give me time to bring back the foals for weaning after we get home from Gulf Shores. I don't want the weanlings here while we are gone. Ruth sent a text that she took Fedi to the eye doctor and he sent them right down to the emergency room. He believes Fedi had a stroke in his eye. Ruth sent the picture below telling us that the white part is dying tissue.
He has been waiting for hours there to get the rest of his body checked out. At 6:00 pm she sent the message that he is eating grapes and watching cartoons while waiting.
Beth Meister sent the message that John has to stay another night in the hospital they can't keep his blood pressure up.  How well we know that scenario.. it runs in the family. He is finally sitting up in a chair.  Mark got home from work and went right out with his chain saw. He has the drive mostly cleared but this is such a big job and more to do. I stopped to take a picture of Mark's flowers before coming into the house. They were so bright in the sunshine.
It was a restful day.
