Chuck Haefli's Obit

Just Diane and I walked this morning although Joan drove in just as we were starting. She camped in the motorhome last night but brought the van in for Co-Op. Diane and Mike have big news. They are going to be keeping a refugee family. They met the couple last night and have an interpreter function now on their phone. It was sunny out this morning but cool. Karin posted the video below of Faith and Hannah putting on the play Snow White:

I had to laugh when I heard, "Where is MY true love? Yours died!"   Then it was time to get to work, the boxes that came last week were loaded on the golf cart and taken over to the barn.

Mark helped me move the cupboard and the box with the second cupboard that still needed to be put together over and up the stair. When everything was up the big cupboard box was opened and the parts lists taken out, then each part taken out was counted and put in a pile. Right away I could tell the box was missing a piece. A very important piece, the back brace with the letter J was not in the box.  I contacted Amazon, they contacted the seller and now I have to wait. It is just one piece but it is the piece that holds the top layer to the bottom layer.  I sent the seller the 2 pictures below to make sure I can get the correct piece.
Hopefully they will send the part soon. The rest of the boxes were opened, they all contained bedding for the chair beds and the two twin size mattresses. I moved the cupboard against the video game, put the two twin mattresses next to that then when I finally get the last part that other cupboard will keep them in place.
The comforters were opened and tried out on the chair beds.
They are reversible either gray or black so switched one and like the black better.
Those were folded up to see how they would fit in the cupboard and was pleased to find they easily fit 2 to a shelf..
The bottom half has the sheets and mattress protectors. When the other cupboard is finished that can hold the 6 pillows needed for the 6 twin mattresses. The game room was straightened out before leaving.
By the time I finished it was time for lunch. I made 4 cans of tuna salad. A bit later was shocked to see it was raining so had to run out and put the golf cart away. After lunch the sun came back out. The storm came pretty quick and knocked one tree limb off and over the main drive. I was able to pull that off without getting the chain saw.
Mark worked on proposals all morning then went out to keep working on the fallen branch until it was time to leave for Chuck Haefli's visitation and funeral. Below is his obituary:
Charles "Chuck" R. Haefli, 63 of Fairview, passed away at 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at his residence. He was born on June 3, 1960 in Peoria, a son of Richard and Gladys (Blunier) Haefli.

He was preceded in death by his father.
Chuck worked and retired as a General Contractor/part owner of T. Haefli & Sons, and later working as property manager for Oak Cliff Park in Peoria. He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, and four-wheelers.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, where a memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM. Per request by his family please wear casual attire.   That was well attended and his sisters took turns sharing so many memories of Chuck. It really was good to be there. We were going to go to supper after the funeral but didn't get out of their until 8:15 pm so instead just drove home and had left over tuna salad.
