Strangely Well Behaved

We only did one round of walk today. I had to leave early to take the Chevy truck to Riekers for an oil change. Mom followed and picked me up when I left the truck then drove us both to the Berean office where LOTS of mail waited.  We had a good time at that office today and were able to get everything done by noon. IF you would like to read about our morning there click HERE.
From there mom drove me back to Peoria Tire and Vulcanizing to pick up the truck. Thankful that got done without wasting too much time. As soon as I got home the truck was hooked up to the Kiefer Built and pulled out enough to clean out the horse part. The Eclipse 2 horse trailer was also cleaned out as long as I was working. When Mark got home we got the power washer out so both trailers could get a good scrubbing. Mark also power washed both of the Kubota tractors and the skid steer.  I went back into the house in time to watch and listen to VBS at church.
I had someone ask how we get our horses so quiet around children. It helps that our horses are not stalled and they always have access to grass and hay.  Karin spends a lot of time just doing ground work teaching each horse to release any anxiety they may have. Below are 3 of the horses used for Indian camp, enjoying the 45 of so little Indians all busy painting their war ponies.
Even ditzy Sangria knows to stand very still when her hooves are painted. She is very careful not to step on a child. (please don't try this at home)

We had an instructor at a clinic one time come up and remark, "your horses are strangely well behaved!" We really do have a lot to be thankful for. So much that if we try to count our blessings we would be well into next week. We will have an early night, tomorrow is jam packed with preparing for our canoe trip.
