Tori's Colt Sale Pending

It was still raining this morning while doing chores. I ran out to the barn after downing 2 cups of coffee to feed and water Tori and check on her colt. He is doing great but his cord is still a little damp so iodine was applied again.  With colts sometimes that needs to be done for a few days. Fillies are designed different and theirs dries up that first day.
It was not raining on our walk and we had a big group today.  Bill and Bethany are here visiting from Bluffton, Indiana and Anna dropped off the girls. I haven't seen those girls for over 2 weeks and was thrilled they came AND did the entire walk with us. Ruth snapped the picture below.
Of course all of the walkers had to stop at the barn to see Tori's new colt. After the walk we had breakfast before heading out to work. At 9:30 am I went out to bring Jenis in to get her cleaned up for the photo session scheduled at 10:30 am. I stopped at the pasture and called her name and was shocked when she didn't come galloping up until I noticed Karin's car at the barn. By the time I got to the barn the rain started back up.  Karin was on Ayanna and Faith was on Jenis. They were heading to the cabin for a trail ride IN the RAIN.  They took 6 horses today. Karin, Bill, Bethany, Hannah, Faith and Berlica all went on those muddy slippery steep trails in the rain!  The horses used were Sangria, Jenis, Ayanna, Sally, Missy and Cookie. Cathie Trent was bringing out an artist named Lonnie Stewart and his friend to take pictures with Jenis and she sent a text at 10:07 am that they were on their way from East Peoria about a half hour away from our place.  I sent a text to Karin at 10:11 am asking if they were on their way back so I would have a few minutes to get Jenis cleaned up. The trail riders made it back just before 10:30 am, Ayanna was untacked and put away. Bethany, Hannah, Faith and Berlica helped bring in the surcingle. Jenis was cleaned up and Oksana brought inside and the vaulting surcingle put on Oksana just in time. Below the girls are helping get Jenis and Oksana all pretty.
When they arrived we first went into the stall barn to see Tori and her colt then headed to the arena to meet Jenis. Below are a few pictures.
Above Jenis is posing for a picture on the pedestal and below is Lonnie, the artist on Jenis.

Oksana was brought out and Bethany, Hannah and Faith did a short vaulting demonstration on her at a stand.  After it was over the guests gave them each $20.00 and told them they could buy make-up with it and we ALL, Cathie, me, Bethany, Hannah and Faith burst out laughing.

After our guests left and Oksana was put away the girls took turns riding Jenis.

The girls had so much fun watching Bethany, Hannah and Faith that they worked on the vaulting barrel coming up with some of their own tricks.

We went in for lunch then came back outside to clean the stall barn, Tori's stall, play with the colt and groom Tori.

We learned a new game with the golf cart and played that until the rain started back up again. Since we were all soaked, cold and muddy we came inside and made somemores in the microwave. We couldn't find the chocolate bars so used chocolate chips but the girls decided they were delicious.
This evening Rhonda, Joan, Diane, Ruth, Hannah and I went to mom's house for games. When I got home there was an email from someone sending the deposit check tomorrow for Tori's Colt.  I won't mark him sold until it gets here but sounds like they are for sure mailing it.
A very nice review came in from our airbnb renters:
“It was/is exactly what I was looking for. A relaxed, pet friendly environment. Everyone was very friendly. Judy was available and responsive to my questions. I would not hesitate and even hope to stay there again. I love the horses. Glad that the new mom and baby are doing well. What a wonderful place for your children and grandchildren. Hope to stay with you again.”
What a long fun tiring day!
