Mackenson was discovered in the city of Port-au-Prince after the earthquake. At the time the orphanage he was taken to thought he was about 4 years old as he was so small and didn't talk. How he survived on the streets is anyone's guess. He has worked hours and hours taking clay out of the lake for his fort. He told grandma he is going to build 2 and rent one out. Check out the pictures below and even that won't show how much this boy builds and builds. He saves any and all kinds of scraps and adds them to his collection to use for something. He calls this 'his invention!' Below are the wagons he uses to haul the clay from the lake up to his work area.

He has nailed pieces of wood everywhere. He is becoming an expert at pounding nails.
The tarp is laid down then filled with clay balls he is drying. We are not sure but think he is making round bricks.

In Haiti the very poor and hungry will make mud cookies and sell them. He must have watched this process and is making something to sell. Each day he is excited to get out and start working on his projects.
We had to marvel at his determination and realized you can take a Haitian out of Haiti but there is no way to take Haiti out of the Haitian. After the walk I left for the Berean office. Robin had already arrived and brought the mail and between the 2 of us we got everything done. Bill was called to report there were over 250 studies ready to be mailed along with 64 Bibles. I brought the studies home and if anyone wants to help grade them I will be glad to drop them off and leave them on your porch. Just send me a text or phone call.
From there I stopped at Aldi's to pick up some groceries for mom. Pretty much everyone in the store was wearing a facemask except me. People were careful to stay away from other shoppers. I noticed Aldi has now put up plastic guards between the checkers and the customers. I was able to find everything on mom's list. As soon as I got home Lola and Soul's udders were checked. No waxing so they were left out. This evening a bunch of us from church joined an on-line meeting. My computer doesn't have a microphone or a camera so I had to use the phone to be able to talk and listen but the computer to see everyone. It was wonderful to be able to see faces as they talked. We ALL laughed when Merle mentioned there was a run on shirts at stores but NOT pants. Barb told us about a birthday drive by parade for MaryLu with everyone honking and hollering out the window for her 70th birthday.
Late this afternoon Galena was teased. She is still in so covered by Valiant. Ayanna will be checked tomorrow.
After the meeting Mark and I went up to the barn to work on installing more lights in the stall area. We got that done tonight.

The news for these next two weeks is suppose to be grim with many more deaths but one bright spot was New York's governor saying they had fewer deaths today than yesterday and believe the curve is now flattening. The US is reporting 350,000 confirmed cases of Corona Covid 19 and over 10,000 deaths. With the hope that the curve is flattening the stock market surged upward nearly 8%.
