TWO Born Today

Beth came for the walk this morning and was telling me that Coke's udder was getting really big. On the walk we came upon a big snapping turtle digging a hole to lay her eggs.

Joan put her in a box and we moved her. She had not yet laid any eggs in that hole. We don't want snapper's hatching here.
Rachel was busy treating the lake.
After the walk I went right to work finishing the floors in the apartment for the guests moving in today when Beth sent picture by text.  Coke HAD her baby, a nice big colt and check out the Appaloosa blanket on this special foal. He is going to be so flashy.
Imagine owning an Appaloosa Friesian cross with those markings. He not only will be beautiful but he will be tall and have HAIR, the one thing lacking on Appaloosas! He is also for sale for only $4000.00. If you want him feel free to contact the Giant Goose Ranch on their Facebook page.
When the apartment was finished there was a message waiting for me from Cortney the owner of Lily's blind filly we named Helen born in 2012. She is Ayanna and Rosalie's FULL sister.  Well Cortney named her Fathom and bred Fathom last year and this morning this is what Cortney sent:

She writes: Hi Judy!! Just wanted to share the good news with you. Fathom had a beautiful colt this morning. We had a friend with a Percheron stud, so we bred her last July. He is a gorgeous, strong, and healthy foal! Fathom is such a good mom too! Thank you for trusting her with me!!! She has meant so much to me!! Fathom is amazing and has blessed and inspired me and so many others!
The colt is such a cutie! I was anxious to tell you! She had already delivered at 1:30 when I checked on her, the foal was up and trying to nurse. He got latched on quickly too. Fathom is so sweet and gentle with him.
Karin had a trail ride scheduled this morning taking 5 horses and riders to Sandridge.  Below they are loading up for the trip.

They had a good ride but Karin said for tomorrow they will try a different trail. Sally is getting to know the red trail too well and took off at a gallop with Livy hanging on tight. When they got back they did the trails here.  This time Livy rode Sangria and Karin rode Sally and made her stay at the back and no galloping home.

They did the trails backward and below they are waiting for Bunni to catch up.  I thought it was interesting that they lined up with a gray then a black then a gray all in order by size.
Heading back to the house the resident geese pair were proudly displaying their 9 goslings on the pond.  This is the biggest batch of goslings I've seen here from a single pair.
This evening out guests arrived and were put right to work. Galena was teased and covered by Valiant.  It is nice to have willing helpers.  We walked to the cabin and gave the horses there some grain then walked to mom's for a short visit. Mom had just baked chocolate chip cookies to take to Johnny. He is now home and recuperating from his total knee replacement. Kabur followed us over so was taken back to his house on the golf cart.  Sarah took us inside to meet Patty her parrot along with her two bearded dragons and the little sparrow Faith is raising.  The mares were grained here and udders checked, no babies for us today but are thrilled for the owners of the two that were born today.
Another booking came in today for the apartment for the last 2 nights of June.  June is sure a busy month for that place.
