6 of 7

Even though the day was a frigid 6 degrees when we woke up there was no wind. I had to walk over to mom's to borrow pancake mix and was glad to get out for a short walk while Mark stayed with the grand children. After breakfast Phil dropped off Braelyn, Taegan and Kensley to play with their Bloomington cousins. Below are a few pictures of the day.
The only accident so far is Jace found a razor up in the closet of Rhoda's old bedroom and tried shaving. All was fine after the bandaid was applied.
Grandpa went in to town and brought back a special treat of ice cream which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Jace forgot all about his ouchie once the ice cream arrived.
The girls found some old costumes from our past performances of the Horse fair and didn't just play dress up they made these dresses swirl.

The rest of their pictures were shared on Facebook, to see them click HERE
Today was Jesse Stickling scheduled trail ride. They planned on taking Zalena, Jenis, Eliza, Indy, Anna, and Marika but when Jenis was pulled she was off in her hind end so they substituted Ribbon for Jenis.

When they arrived back much later than expected Jesse said, "this was the most eventful ride he has been on here." The day was so cold the creeks had frozen to a very slippery hard ice, the mares were having trouble getting across. Indy refused to cross and Jesse had to get off Zalena and lead Indy over. The dogs sure didn't have any trouble running through the trails.

After this cold ride they went into the apartment for some hot chocolate and all were glad they had gone. Emily, Anni and Jessica took a trip to Middle Grove to make sure the horses had enough hay. They brought along bridles so just jumped on the Walkers bareback and rode the trails. Jessica snapped the picture below with her phone of Prissy enjoying some hay.
Jessica wrote that even though it was freezing the ride was totally worth it. It's nice to know the horses can be enjoyed both here and at Middle Grove in the middle of winter.
