Rhoda's Wedding

The sun came out this morning but the temperature was below freezing. A cool start for the day but a promise of a nice warm up for this afternoon. We arrived at 10:00 am for pictures at the park of the wedding party and family. Rachel and Jessica, the photographers, were quite professional and were able to get the shots needed before we froze. We were glad when she released us to head to the church. We arrived at the church an hour before the ceremony which gave us time to finish the last minute reception plans. When the guests started to arrive we were ready to greet them. Mark and I so much appreciated those who gave up this beautiful Saturday to celebrate with us the wedding of Rhoda and Lee. I didn't realize how emotional it is to see a daughter get married. The ceremony was beautiful.
Above Rhoda and Lee are praying together and below they have just been pronounced husband and wife.
They headed into an office to sign the marriage certificate while we were ushered into the reception room to find a place to sit.

The rest was just plain fun. We enjoyed a good meal, listened to Lee's brother tell us of his childhood growing up with his best friend and brother and then listened to Sarah talk of growing up with her sister. I looked at all of my adult children happily sitting with their spouses and their children and just started praising God for his goodness and mercy. How blessed we are as a family.
Lee started the dancing with dancing with his new wife

then Mark stepped in and gave Rhoda a whirl or that might have been the other way around with the whirl. Rhoda had us all laughing as she whirled her dad. After Lee's dance with his mom the rest of the guests were invited to literately have a ball.

Below Israel is feeling the music as he dances with his mom.
The candy machine was a hit, the line for the candy was kind of long each time I tried to grab a few chocolates. This was a perfect gift to give the guests and a favorite with the children.
Below Rhoda and Lee are getting ready to leave the party.
We handed out bubbles to blow as Rhoda and Lee were running for the car.
And they were off on their new life together as one.
We had amazing help cleaning up the reception room. Many many hands had the room packed up and the cars loaded. We made a quick stop at the AC church to pick up the left over food. The food was planned well, there were just enough chicken wings, just a small amount of those left, we could have made more meat balls, only a bit of salad was left, and 2 packages of rolls. We had way too many sweet potatoes and pies, and too much fresh fruit. The pies and fruit were easy to find people that were more than willing to take home. The sweet potatoes were brought home, peeled and frozen. Later I'll make a sweet potato casserole. Sarah and Nolan helped unload the van and car and we are ready to rest. That is as soon as the horses are fed. I'm heading out to the barn now.
